Slash Pack Review

Музыка

My wife's friend is buying her husband a guitar to get him started playing guitar. She asked for some suggestions and I provided a few. In the end the decision was hers. She settled on the (Epiphone Slash AFD performance packwww.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j.... I think she made the right decision. In this video I am going to check this thing out. I am mostly interested in the guitar. I will tear this thing down, give it a full setup, and test it out to see how it sounds.

@@daveshank1921 I just picked up the amp. Just the amp. I am not really interested in the guitar, ironically. Just wanted the amp, b'c I am into the vintage thing right now. I'm really an 80's rock guy. But I ove the look of this Epi amp. Picked on up off of Reverb. It's really good. Not fantastic. But really good. I was shocked to be honest. Had it a few days now. Looks amazing, and sounds a LOT better than I figured on. Sounds so much better than all the other crap amps that come in these packs. My only (2) complaints are as follows: Wish it didn't say "Snakepit 15G." LOL I wish it just said 15G. But it's not all that noticeable. Small print. The SLash signature is OK. Also very subtle. And the 2nd small gripe is... the mids and highs come on way to strong and gives it a little bit of a tinny sound. But I crank up the bass full on. And almost nothing on treble and mid. And honestly... this amp has a very full and rich sound to me - when you dial it in to something you like. An 8 inc speaker instead of 4 or 6 like many of these little starter amps. And MUCH fuller sounding. For cleanish and a little break-up type gain... it is AWESOME! If you want to play Def Lep or Van Halen - forget about it. LOL But I have equipment to do that. For basic rock, blues, or vintage styles... it's great. I LOVE it.

I got 1 of these amps w/ o power supply off Ebay. Found out power supply is a crazy 24v AC to AC wall wart. Really hard to find. When I did find it had a problem getting it shipped. Had to complain real loud to the company shipping and they sent back the shipping cost. Whole amp ended up costing me $49. I like this amp. It ain't my Boogie or Twin but for under $50 it sounds good enough to play with along my other practice amps.

got one last week after tuning the sound was not right figured i got a bad deal until I found a video of an old guy showing how to do what he called a step-up setting on the humbucker poles adjustments so after a dew hours tweaking and adjusting everything from the humbuckers , neck rod, string high , string distance on bridge its now the best sounding guitar I've ever owned. Have new bridge coming going to get rid of the wire holding down the adjusting screws , that's a messed up design but it will get you by to see what's it's about. Seems all good just have to spend time adjusting . Only thing better than this guitar I guess is You Tube to find out how to do things.

I thought you actually had to fret a note at the 12th fret and compare it to open, or the harmonic to setup up intonation? Otherwise you've not actually determined that the 12th fret is half way along the string have you?

Don't matter if it's well set up if you don't tune the guitar to pitch, and with ceramic humbuckers you don't need gain on 22 LOL Why bother with VOX and Mesa when you have 2 channels on your Epiphone? :D You get 10 points for playing Vito Bratta thou...

Antwan_ Sciarafafa_ This is why i have switched to the D'addaro NYXL strings instead of the Earnie Ball strings. The Earnie Ball strings must be stretched constantly to hold their tuning. I also wanted to check the intonation because this was a brand new guitar with an unknown setup from the factory. But, thanks for watching and giving me some input.

It may have come with d'addario strings but since I have a habit of always changing strings on a new guitar I just threw what I had laying around on it.

You lost me when you didn't show anything but the guitar and you did a complete setup. It's for beginners and they won't have that luxury.
