Slappy BS 50/50 Trick Tip
Спорт
I made this one for those asking how to go into the slappy backside 50/50’s front truck first and for those that want to be able to fully lock in. Let me know what you would like to see next!!! #slappy #skateboarding #slappytrucks #liljawnsrails #asicsskateboarding #curbskating #tricktip #diy #slappy5050 #bsslappy

I honestly used to struggle with both until I started thinking about them similar to frontside and backside krooked grinds. Try it out and let me know if it helps!
Great video man, so informative and the various angles are appreciated. I like how you explained why you do certain things like foot placement, i.e. for slappy crooks you dont use your backfoot so you also dont need it for a back 50. I'd love to see videos on slappy blunts, slappy tailslides, and slappy suski/salads as i dont see any videos on these. Also seeing what combos or challenges you are working on would be dope. Keep the vids coming man! Appreciate your time making these!

Years ago i unlocked slappys, alll directions, and now I'm relearning and i couldn't figure out the foot placement, i kept trying to lift and getting into the feeble of death.. thanks for the tip

Man that’s so rad!! I love hearing that these vids are helping people learn these slaps!!!
nice. whenever i try them i end up doing the weird feeble and get smoked. can't get them fs either, but i can kinda whip a bs 180 into an axle stall/mini nose grind without popping. i guess i always thought of it more like the motion of riding up a curb, where you shift weight to the tail then nose rather than toeside/heelside. got my first bs crook on video if you care to check it out, just getting back out there at 40 and shaking off the rust.
@eastcoastcurbkiller

Yeah that feeble thing is the worst! Took me a while to figure this out and think of it more along the lines of how a crooked grind goes up the curb.
this is super helpful dude! i just recently learned bs slappy 50's, but i dont feel in control of them. i cross lock every time, and what you said makes so much sense! Thank you

That’s rad bro!! I was actually just watching your video where you were trying to get all the way on top. Doing them this way should help you be able to play with the motion going slow so you don’t feel like you have to fly to get all the way on.

I have figured them out today, hard work, puh! What it finally did for me was your foot positioning plus more toe over the edge specially on the back foot. I ride a wide egg shaped board, so I needed more toe pressure to get the back truck on top. I’m happy as f$ck, can’t wait to learn more slappys. Cheers!

How do you get off the grind when you are done? Thank you.
Just curious do you need your trucks to be at a certain way? I’ve always ridden medium / tight. Also I dig this video a bunch!
@eastcoastcurbkiller
5 ай бұрын
More towards medium or medium/loose definitely helps. It just allows you to dig more into your toes for this trick and also doesn’t snap back into place too easy while your wheels are gliding up the curb. And thank you!!
These feel really good for me on basic curbs but parking blocks for some reason my back truck never follows completely so I get in the cross lock 50/50 like you were talking about. Any tips for that? Im assuming either go faster or scooch my back foot a bit to correct the back truck some? idk
@eastcoastcurbkiller
10 ай бұрын
That is a head thing. You have to stay toeside with your back toes until everything is fully locked in. You have to trust that the curb will stand you up and that you won’t go over.
I have issue getting the back truck up the curb and lock in. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Basicly an axle stall motion on transition
@eastcoastcurbkiller
10 ай бұрын
For axle stalls people typically lift a little and set their front truck down on the coping. This is not relying on your back truck to get you up the curb

Any thoughts on wheel size and or hardness to learn these?
@eastcoastcurbkiller
10 ай бұрын
So my sweet spot for wheels for curb skating seems to be the 53mm bones x formula in the v1 shape. The v1 is just rounded enough to help you glide up the curb but square enough that you stay locked in if that makes sense. I’m on the 97a durometer but I wanna try the 99a version soon
@soberskater

Is it better to have tighter or looser trucks?
@eastcoastcurbkiller
8 ай бұрын
Looser trucks definitely help you swerve into all of the slappies but I honestly thing that too loose ends up causing issues so I stick to kind of medium tightness. If your trucks are super loose, you won’t snap out of all of the pinched grinds like krooks and everything.
ive fixed the back truck problem but Im needing some help, whenever i do bs slappy 5050s for some reason i cant get fully onto of the curb but grind the edge. Any help? Thanks
@eastcoastcurbkiller

You’re going to need to dig harder into your toes. You have to really stay toeside until the curb stands you all the way up
@justas7021
2 ай бұрын
@@eastcoastcurbkiller its also on top of a bank and its the only curb ive got so does that have an effect and make me need to stay to toeside for even longer?
This was solid. What if the obstacle is like 1-2 inches higher than the nose of the board though? I built a Slap Pad, identical dimensions to the Keen Ramps one and there’s a pretty good gap between my nose and the round coping.
@t3r083
3 ай бұрын
I’m still leaning this but just seemed like I might need to apply a little tail pressure to get up… especially if the obstacle is higher
@eastcoastcurbkiller
3 ай бұрын
The concept is still the same for sure. On something taller your angle needs to be a little harder. A hard dig into your toes will tilt the nose enough so it will literally slide up the curb. Using your tail will make it more difficult.
Any help? My back truck dosent go on?
@eastcoastcurbkiller
3 ай бұрын
You most likely have too much weight on the back foot, have your foot on the tail, or aren’t going toeside enough. Can’t really help without seeing what you’re doing
