Ok let’s get this clear, the metal ruler is brand specific and most companies just put a sheet of metal which is still equally cool but please don’t rip the outside cover its not worth it and the metal will either hurt really bad when it smacks your wrist or you’ll get a cut ( saying this from personal experience )

Metal ruler is not brand specific. I think they are either recycled or conjoined products. In our country we had this but when open tape has slight rust on them. They are extremely cheap so probably recycled discarded tape.

This must be a more modern development. Growing up in the 80s when these first hit the scene, underneath was nothing but a plain black plastic or strip of metal. They actually banned them from my school after a couple kids sliced their fingers open trying to wear just the raw metal without the covering. If they've since been changed to recycled tape rulers, that... Actually kinda makes sense, and would reduce the risk of injury. Definitely going to have to test this myself next time my daughter comes home with a slap bracelet from school (she'll play with it for 48 hours and then completely lose interest lol).
