I haven't bodysurfed there in over 40 years, but could tell it was Chambers in a heartbeat. Once upon a time, it was my second home.

It's crazy how close to shore it is!!! Great natural footage, as usual. LOVE LOVE LOVE the natural sounds. Thanks for the post.
Amazing footage as always. Impressed on some of the makes. Thanks
These are some gnarly takeoffs. The drop knee shredder had some impressive rides.
Great Mark! You always bring it. Lifer sponjah ...!
Great video! A beautiful Sandys and some making it look easy. A heavy wave not to be missed with. Scary at 1ft! Greetings from Australia

So Awesome to see the Guy's bodyboarding, enjoying the Surf, the choppier, the better. Those waves are so transparent, like Glass. Love the Beauty of the Hawaiian shores.... My heart just sored when You panned the "Blowhole" My Mom, My Aunt and I visited Hawaii. We stopped there, ...... Awesome memories of good times spent there.. ❤🌟🇿🇦
Fun spot. Ride it as much as I could when I was on Oahu. It's like Makena's little playful brother, with training wheels. All the excitement of a Makena barrel, without the horrific power, and fear.
Looks like so much fun, I love shore breaks
Body surfer at 0:17 is nuts!!! 😱😱😱

@@mattoattacko When my wife and I rented a little house in the beach lots of Waimanalo in the 1980s there was an old Hawaiian man, Bill Akima, living next door. They had an old lunch wagon parked in their backyard. He introduced me to his German born wife. Her name was Irma! He had met her in Germany when he was there with the US Army during World War II. He promised he would come back to get her after the war. He did, and brought her to live in Waimanalo. That’s how Irma‘s lunch wagon was born.

Anyone remember that one day (like ~20 years ago) when Sandys was getting hit by some GIANT surf. Like 40ft kine almost up to the blowhole. Shit was bananas.
This footage makes me remember the Kaiser High days. Cut school, cruise to sandys, open the hatchback and blast the sub woofers. Get barreled over and over, go hit Koko Marina for shave ice and maybe some Korean Barbeque then surf portlock point wall into the sunset. Some of the best days right there!!!

I miss dat beach break ova dea on Oahu, da south side "Sandy's", I haven't been dea for about 35years plus. Nau I Reside up hea in WA. Mahalo Nui Loa for dis video🤙😎
Sandy's is an absolute blast! As a grom, I lost count of how many Mcdonalds' food trays my friends I went through; they make an awesome poor-mans boogie board. This was in the early 80's.
Thank you Mark
3:02 was by far the best one, even though there was no barrel, it was still sick
Lovin' natural sounds & rockscape shoreline too. Crazy awesome.....ingin sekali bersama ....kras kras 😎
Oh Sandys, Sandys, Sandys, how I love thee. Glassy tubes are the best.
Absolutely can't get enough of the boys on the boogs!! Look so fun!! Great content as always 🤙
Crazy shore break close out!👍
Requesting tracks, tumblelands, and yokes 3rd dip 🤙 Mahalo!
Lived on O’ahu from 2016 to 21. First time at Sandy’s I was doing great, exiting the barrel before the break. On my last run, I stayed too long and went over the falls right onto the sand. Thought I was paralyzed for a moment but luckily it was only a severe muscle spasm. Sandy Beach is no joke and not for beginners…the day of my injury it wasn’t even big surf, just an average day. Stay safe everyone!
Thanks for the shot bud, i had the wavestorm.

I first went to Sandy Beach in 1965 . No lifeguards, no nothing except massive shorebreak! Many drunk sailors drowned there due to they're inability to realize they were witnessing something that they had never dealt with and their ability to reason was dulled by the alcohol .

I went there a lot in the late sixties, early 70s, there and Makapuu, l lived in Kailua. I've seen quite a few mishaps at both, not just by tourists and drunken sailors, myself being no exception. One must accept their limitations
best video ive seen of sandys
Always love watching ppl get slammed at Sandy's
Middle Peaks at it's best, hard to beat
It gets bigger. We use to tear that shit up back in the day, Jack Lindholm (Jack the Ripper) me and friends. Jack always drop knee I would knee board.
Was my Favorite Wave back in my Pedi-cabbing days '78-'82 round trip from Waikiki on DaBus= .50 cents.
But Makapu'u on a Big Northeast swell ( when country has 30' North) Mak's be about 10 to 12 Hawaiian and with Kona winds is the best hands down but rare combo
Hi, I've been following you for a long time and everything in your videos has always been spectacular. The sessions are great, the quality is fantastic... this channel is absolutely brilliant and you helped me a lot with the majority of my curiosities about surfing, thank you so much. Anyway, I would like to make a suggestion (if it's not a problem): I'm convinced that you can add a really funny video on your channel to show us some of the funniest things happened while surfing or even during other water activities, something like a "oops and bloopers" compilation. For example, you could make a compilation of all of the times where you or other surfers get "caught" on video while peeing in the water. Once, my uncle peed in his wetsuit on his surfboard while he was waiting for a wave and that was hilarious, he always tells me there are 2 types of surfers, divers and swimmers: those who pee in the water and those who lie, you can also include those moments in the future videos just to keep having a bit of humor on your channel, you can use both old and new clips, what do you think? I know it sounds weird, but, for me, it's the funniest thing about surfers and swimmers. When a surfer pees in the water or in his wetsuit, I think he demonstrates to be someone who is not afraid of consequences or to be judged. I think it's something that can come out great! I'd be so so happy to watch it, let me know, have a great day!

The home of chiropractic adjustment. Been slammed there many times.
If north shore isn’t breaking does that mean sandys won’t be breaking either? Or are they opposite sides of the island placed differently for different swells? 🤔
@MarkTakamura
3 жыл бұрын
Pretty much opposite. North shore winter, sandys and south shore usually fire during summer.
😂😂😂 @2:28 Rubbah , nevah like pull in sai.
I remember bodyboarding there for the first time years ago got so pounded I came up my board was halfway down the beach and my shorts were around my ankles and it took two days to get the sand out of my butt 😂😂🌊🌊
Did he pop out the back at @0:57 ?
spent many a day on that beach getting slammed getting drunk and watching the bikinis!lol What a great life it was in the early 70s there!
waimea bay very diffent much meaner shore break. most days just let the ocean tug you out and fight to get back in is a workout. but on smaller days you can actually catch a wave right on to the beach and have the wave break on top of you before tossing you way up on the beaach to peopple sitting on towels.
What’s that thing the one boogie boarder was wearing in his mouth?
