Those are great dogs! This was amazing! Haven't hunted rabbits in about 15 years or longer. I love that music. But those dogs are incredible! I don't know how they can bark like that and not pass out. Lol. Great stuff!

The nose on those dogs and the control is amazing.. makes me want to sell my whole pack of fast dogs and slow down a bit.

Thanks, it took us a long time to realize if you wanted to be consistent and be able to run in about all conditions you had to have nose and patience. If you are fast and competitive runs don't last long. Darrell Waltrip used to say in Nascar sometime you have to slow down to go fast. I believe that is true with dogs.

Speed has 0 to do with long chases. Has to do with brains and nose more than style and speed.

hey....great video!! on of my favorite.. what camera do you use for filming? i'm going purrchase one and i tkink that panasonic hdc mdh1 is excellent for the job

There are a ton of good choices in cameras. That was filmed with a Sony HDRXR-550V that is no longer made. I see it around at places but the price is outrageous. I am looking at a Sony Action Cam that is similar to the GoPro that I think is a better camera. It won't be the quality of this camera but it will be hands free.sony hdras30V It is cheap enough that I want to give it a shot.

curious, how do you get them to return when you are ready? Beagles are notoriously stubborn. I have two (pets not hunting dogs) and Id never let them off leash if not in a enclosed place as I'm concerned they would run off for hours. Id love to let them chase rabbits just for the exercise and to let them do what beagles do naturally.

They will come back. Once they get tired they will get concerned where you are. One thing I would cation is that they will run about anything when they first start. If you decide to let the dog loose it's best to have a tracking/training collar. We never run our dogs without them. They will not run off game and will always come back when we call but we never want something to happen and not know where thy are. We run the Garmin Alpha 200 Tracking systems.

Benson's Kennel would be fun. A hunt would be real fun. I would not know how to react to hunt a place that had rabbits.

Robert Dampier My brother and I have been so fortunate to have owned the dogs we have owned. I don't think we will ever match them again. To have complete all around dogs with the whole package we were blessed.

Enjoyed this very much. Do you actually get the rabbit, or are you in it like foxhound enthusiasts, just for the thrill of the chase?

+Bud Savoie We do both. We hunt during rabbit season but pleasure run & field trial the rest of the year.

They'll run themselves ragged and near death. And rabid for rabbits. Seems to me they are born knowing the word rabbit as every one I had hearing the word for the first time, got all excited and was looking for direction, seemed to know right off what it meant.

There job is to circle the rabbit back to the hunter to shoot it not to catch. The idea is to track and never lose the scent.
