Skyrim legendary difficulty glitchless

Ойындар

NEW RECORD (WR): • Skyrim legendary diffi... . Single-segment speedrun of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim played on the hardest difficulty on 27.3.2015 by quho aka knifechamber. Timing starts when you gain control of character and ends when Alduin is defeated in Sovngarde.
So many places where I made small mistakes :D. Many of those made me want to reset, such as missing dragonrend on Alduin 1 and using wait too early while whirlwind sprinting (especially at Ustengrav).. But in the end the run turned out to be really good.
Also Thalmor Embassy didn't go the way I had planned and that's why I kinda ran out of health at Alduin 1.
Glitchless means to complete the game without using any glitches. This is (to list some):
-No OOB and any kind of clipping
-No object jumping (bucket jump, yolo bucket)
-No use of quicksave/quickload for skipping dialogs
-No use of unlimited stamina (torch/qs&ql glitch)
For this reason for example I didn't get Throat of the world waypoint early on horse as it is quite impossible to get up there without clipping.
I use OBS for streaming at Twitch and Livesplit for splits. Game was played on the latest Steam version 1.9.32.0.8 and no mods, cheats or console was used (aka Vanilla gameplay).

    +Demonkiller Death I feel like in a non speedrun game where you just strictly advance through the main quest you would probably beat the game in less in-game days due to all of the waiting he did to replenish his stamina bar, especially if u avoid fast travelling. I'd honestly like to see a run for the shortest amount of in-game time that has passed.

    Skyrim Legendary Glitchless Speedrun: The Movie A high octane adventure, join the Dragonborn as she runs, jumps, pushes people around and bullies them into speaking faster, begins speaking to people only to leave the room immediately afterwards, flies and falls her way to victory in this summer box office bomb! "Hey, what's the hurry?" - Faendal "Gods above, look at that" - Delphine "Wuld! *panting* Wuld! *panting*" - The Dragonborn "This is your chance, Dovahkiin! And so the mysterious Dragonborn, who sprinted for a few seconds then sat down and waited for an hour, over and over; who repeatedly punched people as they were trying to speak so they would talk faster, who somehow guzzled an entire shop's worth of potions and ate an entire buffet's worth of food in a fraction of a second in order to heal herself during a battle, who stripped corpses, tables, and chests of all their valuables and siphoned the magical power from them in the blink of an eye; who repeatedly committed crimes against the town guards and turned herself in in order to quickly travel to city centers, who sprinted past entire armies in battlefields and dungeons alike, and who slew the dark lord of all dragons by blindly spamming his hardened skin with seemingly ineffectual conjured arrows, would sprint and wait and sprint and wait into the sunset, never to be seen again. The end.

    Has anyone ever tried a Skyrim speedrun where they try to complete the game by the earliest in-game date, rather than the fastest real-world time? It would be interesting, because waiting to restore stamina wouldn't be a good strategy. And it may be faster in some circumstances to run rather than fast travel.

    Edit: I will keep the original post, but I just want to put it here that I did admit that I was wrong about it being a glitch. If you read the replies to this you'll see that. I'm just adding it here so new people coming here won't think that I'm arguing that it is a glitch. The reason I thought it was a glitch, is because the game doesn't explain why the shout cooldown breaks the normal rules in that spot. I don't consider this glitchless. You double Whirlwind Sprinted to get through the gates in Ustengrav. And if you try to claim it has to be done because getting through is impossible otherwise, I know I have done it without glitching. Posting proof would be difficult (unless I don't have to make a new character. If I don't, it'd be simple).

  • @knifechamber5018

    +ShadowTheKitty42 Not a glitch. That's how you solve that puzzle. If you don't, the gates will close. It's how the developers meant you to get through Ustengrav.

  • @ShadowTheKitty42

    @ShadowTheKitty42

    8 жыл бұрын

    No, I've done it without that and it's obviously a glitch. You used a shout before the shout cooldown timer was in place. That was not intended by the developers, and is defined as a glitch.

  • @knifechamber5018

    @knifechamber5018

    +ShadowTheKitty42 Lol. Watch 31:36 and very carefully inbetween shouts. The thing is: I use the shout as soon as it's off cooldown. After first shout, it goes off cooldown. And that happens every time. If I didn't use a shout as soon as the bar goes off cooldown, then when? You are saying that 100% of players who have completed the game (or gone through Ustengrav) are using a glitch. Because it's impossible to go through those doors without having shout bar reset. I guess I would have to use an external timer to time the next shout, as the bar is off cooldown all the time? No, this is pretty clear to me, and by now should be for you aswell. Simply not a glitch

  • @ShadowTheKitty42

    @ShadowTheKitty42

    8 жыл бұрын

    No, I just watched it again. You didn't use the second shout after it went off cooldown, you used it before the cooldown started. You seem to be confused about what a cooldown means and what it's intended to do. It's supposed to prevent additional shouts for a short time. If the cooldown had actually taken place, you would not have been able to shout again so quickly. Since the cooldown did not have the effect the game designers expected, that is a glitch.

    There's a difference, dear traveler: Glitching is going through walls, fuck up mechanics (like backwards long jump in Mario 64) and exploit mechanics to do the impossible, like ISG in Zelda. No glitch/simple exploit: Jumping on collision boxes placed by the developer to speed things up.

  • @Vector3Gaming

    @Vector3Gaming

    7 жыл бұрын

    TheMadZocker you're starting to really play with the definition of glitch. it's difficult to say cos we don't always know what the devs intended and didn't, but if something is done that the devs intended on being impossible then that's a glitch. even the horse climbing up mountains by following specific paths along the jagged rocks that happen to work, those could be classified as glitches. jumping up mountains is not a glitch because you're jumping, but riding up them along ridiculously specific paths that are extremely calculated by the player and don't look realistic is a glitch.

  • @TheMadZocker

    @TheMadZocker

    CrackKat In some cases I agree that it could be hard to identify as either a glitch or exploit, like the flying bucket.^^ But I can't see how jumping on a dragon's wing/hitbox could be considered as a glitch? I mean, we're not in COD where the devs are completely strict on where you go and what you do. Some people could jump wrong in the hurry to flee the dragon and jump just like the runner did, without knowing that it's the wrong way - can't see how in a free open world game a "wrong way" could possibly exist, anyway.^^"

  • @Vector3Gaming

    @Vector3Gaming

    Lol i totally get you and i personally don't have an opinion on this specific case, but I think one way to help draw the line is if it interferes with the story and makes it no longer make sense. I haven't played Skyrim in ages so i don't remember the details and what he skipped by doing that. But if for example, doing something like that skips an NPC saying something or doing something and later it's referenced as if it happened, it's a glitch. Something that makes the game look ridiculous and a reviewer would be like "why did this character reference something that never happened?" That's something a dev would fix if they knew about it. Sometimes there's obviously more than one way to achieve something, because that's the fun of the game, but on the other hand there's skipping events and sequences by finding places where they forgot to put invisible walls or whatever

  • @TheMadZocker

    @TheMadZocker

    7 жыл бұрын

    CrackKat For me, that's the freedom of open world. Like, forced to first talk to an NPC to go somewhere would interfer the immersion of the game, if you ask me. And that's how the game is programmed anyway. I could understand if you need to talk to an NPC to accept the quest which you happened to finish already so that you can talk to that NPC immedietely afterwards to "finish" the quest. But if you happen to, let's say, meet the greybeards before talking to Whiterun's Jarl, I just cannot see it being a glitch. Because that's what freedom in an open world game is, or at least should be: To do whatever in whichever order you like. Just yesterday I wanted to climb a mountain with shadowmere to get to a place in which I could fast travel later, like, for the sake of completion. But NOPE, an invisible wall stopped me, which instantly killed the mood inside me. :|

    If someone would have told me that you could beat this game in an hour and a half without cheating when it first came out. I would have called them a bold face liar and thought they were a fucking idiot. Yap I would be the idiot.

    I saw the title and I'm like, "How is he gonna kill everyone and beat the game that fast?" Then you started running past everyone and I was like "Oh wow didn't think of that, haha." Good run though, I couldn't go that fast on apprentice.

    How to save the world: Wall-Run on towers Fall off of cliffs, your feet won't be needed in Sovngarde... Get arrested. Now you can magically ignore overprotective guards by phasing through the fabric of time and space. Some guy teaching you a shout? Let him shout, and then hope you can use it from memory. Wanna get stuff from chests? Just open it, run away, and use the Force to grab everything. Someone trying to talk to you? Push them. They'll learn to shut up... See a word wall? Walk up to it, and pretend you're interested in what the glowing words mean. Then run away. Who cares? You have the best memory ever. Enemies are pointless to fight. They are slow. Just run past them! You have a world to save god-dammit! And always remember: Parkour beats running. Running is for the weak. Hardcore Parkour all the way!
