The reason they are working on the holiday is because the Hurricane/Tropical storm remnants is coming early next week. Sadly, this work is too little too late-just watch.

Thanks for the informative update. I live in the UK but was aware of both dams and the obvious major concern for those living downstream. Nice to get some comfort with this one as it is such a major dam for the area.

Piss poor video reporting. The drone never got close to reveal the issue!

Storm Berel is inbound with significant amounts of rain. The Dam is holding back water for some 250 miles with a larger catchment area where all the rain which falls will go to that Dam. The Storm track suggests there will be a lot of rain dropping all the way up the Trinity River Valley. Rain is now showing as 2.19 inches per hour over Palestine, Texas. All the rain from 200 miles north ( from South Dallas) is heading down stream to The Dam. Monday 8th July 2024 GMT Summuer Time.

The climate science for the design of these earthen dams is 60+ years old. Many of the projects ran over budget and put rip tap in the spillways and emergency spillways instead of concrete. America has a lot of work to do to upgrade our infrastructure to meet the challenges of our future.

So it's looking like there's going to be a lot more erosion going on before they can pump some concrete

Further down, it 'spills into' a number of homes in neighborhoods next to the Trinity River. Hence, the need for FEMA.

Then how would Houston get it's drinking water? You talk crap without thinking what the lake is used for. Houston gets 90% of its drinking water from the lake.

You tap ground water for millions of people in Houston and there wouldn't be no ground water left. Then you would have sink holes everywhere cause by open areas under ground where water was at. At least using river water from the lake for electric and drinking water saves the environment of under ground resources.
