Had to try my hand at learning this gnarly guest solo my friend Ryan Beevers (of the band Unflesh) did for another friend Teddy Shao’s band, Sky Pillar. This was difficult as hell, but I had a lot of fun getting it up to tempo. The tapping lick in particular was tricky and took a lot of drilling!
Expect more activity on KZread soon, hopefully. I’ve had a very busy year as I’ve joined Oceans of Slumber as their guitarist back in the spring, and have been touring with both them and Aether Realm. I’m home for the time being now though, and looking to get back into recording videos (while I stay busy with the usual guitar teaching, session work, and other unannounced projects).
Finally, be sure to check out Sky Pillar’s recently-released debut EP, Resurrection! Definitely one of my favorite releases of 2023 so far, and any fan of tech death/melodeath will appreciate it for sure.
