I felt that same wave of intense euphoric nostalgia when I opened my first Jem doll as an adult collector. It was so nice to witness that for you, thank you for sharing that with us ❤

There was just something about McDonald’s toys back then! One of my favorite toys as a kid came from there as well, a little Mulan doll. She came with a dress and her armor and even had articulated knees! I loved her so much. Good times.

These are soo adorable! I owned two of the original Sky dancers and I remember while playing with the one called "Moon Shimmer" she just went right out of my bedroom window (I lived in a building so she got lost) that day I cried like a river, I'll never forget.

Whenever I crave McD’s now I satisfy the urge by getting a Happy Meal. Not only is it nostalgic, but it makes it feel like a special treat again.

I loved my sky dancer when I was a kid! (I only had 1) the Mcdonald's toy versions are so cute I can't believe they actually spin! We didn't get those ones in Australia but Mcdonald's toys were definitely some of my favourites growing up as well :)

My dad taught grades 4-6 and he took my older toys and books (I didn't miss them, so he must have timed it well) to put in a Treasure Box at school for his kids as prizes when they did well. I remember him talking about a kid who got a zero on a spelling test. Dad said he spelled his name right, so he could go get a toy

Omg I remember making my parents drive in every Saturday looking for specific toys lol I was always asking them to change the toy. Do you remember the Disney collection? There was literally every character and it was all blind bags! I searched and searched for Alice on top of the mushroom and finally I remember a woman beside us had one and I propped hustled her for it lol (nostalgia)

I had to do that so much as a kid. Until my mom just ordered it the way I’d prefer so I wouldn’t have to do that. But sometimes the workers were like “are you sure” 🙄🤦🏻‍♂️

I don't think I had any trouble from the employees, that I can remember anyway. And if we went through the drive-thru we could always ask for the happy meal with a "girl's" toy, but if we went inside, my mom would just order the Happy meals and they would see me and my brothers, and assumed I wanted the "boy's" toy. (And to be fair, sometimes I did like the boy toy option better, because some of them were fun, and the girls toys were boring to me, or just something I wasn't interested in). So for me it just depended on what toys they were offering at the time.

It would have been the people at the business where my mailbox is. I usually check my mailbox once a week, Friday afternoons or Saturday mornings.

😊WOW, congratulations!!!!!!!!! I know what you mean about buying back your childhood (and then some)!!!!!!! The only (early) ‘90s toys I own - and know about - are two Polly Pockets and one original Puppy Surprise, and I have two of the newer edition Puppy Surprises with sparkles and pink and purple color ways!! For some funny reason, all my Puppy Surprises have 2 puppies, and not the bare minimum number of three pups in a litter of five max. *scratches head*🫤 I have one 1990-something Cottingley(?) - I forget what they’re called, LOLL!!!!!!! - YELLOW Fairy with PINK hair I picked up off eBay, you know, just as a little extra perch dolly-thingy. By the time these McDonalds toys came out in ‘96, I was so busy and out of touch, I didn’t know what the heck was going on with all the advertising, or much less the latest innovations of the toy manufacturing industry. Speaking of pregnant, LOL!!!!!, you reminded me of one of two tv commercials from the ‘90s I can recall: The first is a warning about the dangers of teenage pregnancy that went: “I thought I was pregnant, and I got crazy scared!” The second is a rivalry ad - see, I don’t recall if the jingle was aimed at Burger King or “Mickey D’s”, as McDonald’s was called, “back in the day”, LOLLLLLLL!😆 - that went a lil’ sumthin’ like this: “Ain’t nuthin’ like thuh real thing, babyyyy…ain’t nuthin’ like thuh rrrreeeaalll thiiing.”😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣❕❕❕❕❕❕❕❕❕❕❕❕❕
