I was like 8 years old - me and my mom and brother just left this homeless shelter and she got an apartment, so the shelter gave us a box of donations. In it, there were a bunch of CD's and this album was in there. I was so intrigued, as a kid it was creepy, enticing and new. Small difference, but made a difference in my life. Music has always been healing for me. Now as an adult, I can go back and listed with a new understanding and appreciation.

The reason it was in a 'donation box' is because it was unwanted fucking trash. I love 2nd hand stores, mainly because of cool clothes that can be found. I once saw the entire BUSH catalog at a store, do you know why? Because it's trash music.🤦🏻♂️

Afrikan hosting traditions...they make water dippers of WOOD to fit one hand, long handle with leverage so no spill, and paint the whole handle and inside with beautiful off-register polka dots in straight rows. That's just to offer a sip of water :) I guess if you carry it in your arms (on your head when arm gets tired) you value your water though. Beautiful beautiful roots rock. My daughter who is in her early 30`s and her friends "discovered" this band last year on the net, I then told her this is not something new and that we " the oldies- her parents" went to a gig in Cambridge to see Skunkanensie and backing band Muse, what a fantastic night, and over 20 years later still good to hear.

I think it’s so funny when kids hear awesome music and realise there music is crap, I had a load of teens a few year ago thinking pink Floyd, led Zep, porcupine tree, among other tracks where brand new, when I told them some of the tracks they had been listening to were 50 years ago there faces where a picture, better still when you say I saw them in concert or got pissed with them even better.
This is one of those songs from the early 90s that just hasn't aged, the vocals are a tour de force and backed up by a really tight rock band who defy any categorisation. It's an epic song and an epic performance, I loved it 20 years ago and I love it even more now.

i am 15 years old and, no joke, i heard this song from my spotify suggestions and.......wow!!! i had no idea it was released so long ago. i thought it was NEW!!! this is such an amazing tune and an incredible artist!!!
I just heard this on radio x in the UK (a rock station) talk about a trail blazer. A black woman making rock music in the 90s that we are still rocking now.... I'm glad I lived through this ❤
I remember when I was about 10 and I first heard this song whilst trying to fall asleep in the back seat of a car. It was night and me and my family where driving home, and I asked my mother to turn up the sound. I listened and I felt like this was such a pretty song, even though I couldn't really understand the lyrics cause I didn't know English back then. I heard it again (In the same car) when I was 12 and asked my mother who it was and wrote it down. I listened to this song a lot when I was drawing or felt like I couldn't explain myself to people. Now it's almost 8 years later from when i first heard it and I had trouble reminding the name of the song or the singer but I could clearly remember the videoclip. After a week of thinking about it it finally came to me. Skunk Anansie, Weak. And as I'm listening to it I'm thinking about long car rides of me falling asleep, i'm thinking about how I now understand the lyrics, and how awesome this song is.

In this tainted soul In this weak young heart Am I too much for you? In this tainted soul In this weak young heart Am I too much for you? i was wondering how long it would take to look through the comments until I find the first one to cry "underrated". Every band is always deemed "underrated" by their submissive fans. They were high in the charts in the 90s. This video has over 7 MILLION views. How on earth could this be underrated? Bands that never get the chance to be aired on TV or radio are underrated. S.A. were successful in their prime.
