at best they both are still in the catacombs, but the interesting thought is what would happen to Squigly now that the skull heart is destroyed would she go back to being dead, or because a shard remains in Marie would she still be awake, yeah I do agree it would've been nice to know what happen to them but I also understand why it only focused on Marie and Peacock, overall this was everything I wanted from Marie's story

What triggers me is that "it was all a dream" type shit. Just multiple fights with an absolute gut wrenching boss, just to get your face skinned and it all be a nightmare. I get she's an April Fools character, but come on, they already gave her too much lore. At this point she's a wasted potential and I don't see anything for her in near future except Variants

However, things didn't work out for Annie, and she watched 2 Skullgirls wreak havoc) Selene (squigly's mom) wished for her family to be alive (...Kind of?) Queen Nancy (Parasoul and Umbrella's mother) wished for the war between the warring kingdoms to end (and it did as she became the Skullgirl) I'm not saying the Skull Heart isn't rigged. It is, but the wishes come true in a way people don't expect it

That's... the whole point though... The skullheart grants wishes, but twists them. Though, the "pure heart" rule is also true, just not in the way you would expect. Black Dhalia's wish was pure because it matched her true intentions(? I think), she wanted the world to burn so that she could have some real fun lmao

At first, I thought it was an error in design, but it seems not to be the case. Marie's eyes lack the sigil of the Skullgirl once the skull heart had been severed. I guess it is proof that her strings had been cut. Also, I find it strange how Filia and Squigly played important role in freeing Marie, and yet they seem to have just disappeared after the first battle.

There's like 4 antagonistic forces wanting to rule over all I think, if it's not the Trinity, its the Medicis, or Brain Drain, or Eliza, and they're at war with each other, while the Canopy crown tries to subdue all of them in order to be the ones in power, which wouldn't be that pretty either, at least according to characters like Leviathan who strongly disliked Parasoul's father and previous ruler, which s p o i l e r s, is still alive and probably still controlling everything from the shadows

She is not only the last skullgirls but one of my favorite. I appreciate how peacock didn’t give up on Marie til the very end.

thing is squigly can't go back to sleep since the heart kinda still exists, even as a shard. remember she goes back to sleep when the heart and the skullgirl both die but in maries case its complicated since the heart is shattered but a shard still exists with its power

Hm, the way i think of it is: The Trinity: Main Antagonist. Brain Drain & Lab 0: Secondary Antagonist. The Medici: Tertiary Antagonist or just Major Antagonist, can’t deny that they still have a big hand in all of this. Eliza: also a Major Antagonist, she seems to have been behind some things too.

I want to know why Filia and Squigly teamed up with Peacock and agreed to her plan in the first place. I know Filia went after the heart to learn more about herself, while Squigly attacked her knowing very well how deadly the heart is, and wished to stop it once more. They must have bumped into each other and made an alliance because of their similar goals.

Marie one is the true canon timeline maybe eventually leading to a sequel called Chrome Girls, lol.

Dang, with Marie's story mode, we finally get a look her and Peacock's past. And now the plot is getting even more intense!

I like how the story goes back and forth between the past and present. We actually see Peacock/Patricia with her eyeballs still in her sockets. In my opinion there should be a Last Story where Peacock, Marie, Filia and Squigly compare notes at the restaurant Nadia works at, the latter of which can't help but listen in on, They soon get surrounded by Black Egrets lead by Parasoul and Umbrella. Suddenly, the earth shakes and it comes from the casino. The seven of them all rendevous with Annie, Beowulf, and Big Band. They are soon greeted by Cerebella, Eliza and Black Dahlia. Along with Vitale and Lorenzo. Also in another faction are Valentine, Painwheel and Robo-Fortune. Lead by Brain Drain. Double arrives and hands the Skull Heart to Dahlia, the former forcing Dahlia to wish that Lorenzo be a woman and then pass on the Skull Heart to her so she could have eternal youth and beauty. This one wish was enough for Aeon, Venus and Lamia to break free and wreak havoc on the world. In a rather sadistic act, Vitale guns down Filia, and Lorenzo extracts Samson from her. Cerebella is shocked to see that Filia is Filia Medici. Heartbroken Cerebella lashes out but Lorenzo grabs Vice Versa and rips it to pieces. Aeon then reverts all skullgirl candidates that were modified back to themselves before their changes, and Aeon, Venus and Lamia combine their powers to cause the candidates to disappear, save for Double. The candidates end up in a white dimension of nothingness and think back on the times they had and all agreed to set aside their differences and work together.

About what you said for Valentine, they’re planning on changing her design to have the pink shurikens instead of the crosses. Apparently it’s to avoid copyright stuff with the Red Cross, but I thought it only mattered if they were red

thing is past SG the story was already planned in advance since 10 years ago, the next bad was gonna be Eliza but the true endgame was the trinity itself since the heart is still gonna be a threat as long as a shard exists or the trinity themselfs too, now just having brains fake skullheart makes its more complicated since the trinity could kidnap it and make the while skullheart process more chaotic if they can control it fully to make endless hearts to fuck the world with since their heart they can't repair back to normal due to maries will fucking it up

probably safe somewhere in the world but marie and peacock have bigger issues to worry about then them being if marie is fully in control of herself or not, thats why its mostly about those 2 since its just them both trying to see what the after effect is from this once in a lifetime issue, the heart corrupts her more/trinity doing it to get their power back or marie returns back fully but at a cost of always worrying about control, or peacock ending her depending on what happens

Overall, super excited about what this could mean for the future of Skullgirls & the mobile game story-wise! But wtf is Brain Drain thinking to make an artificial SkullHeart?!

The DLCs don't have dubbed stories or is only for Marie?

soon, its part of the plan to voice all the dlc storys after marie is out, its easier to do this when maries out so they can bring everyone back to voice act the story+annie alt voice and whatever else they have planned, plus replace certain voices like brain drain given who his voice actor is

Well, this Story Mode was pretty much as interesting as I had hoped and having us start it off with being able to actually Play as the Boss Version of Marie were a very nice touch, although speaking of which, I was wondering what the Final Boss for this one would be, but I guess it still ended up being Bloody Marie like usual, except this time it was a Bloody Marie that was puppeteered much more directly by The Trinity through Double (I guess), still it ended up being Bloody Marie nonetheless, I guess that does make sense, it is the only true Boss-Like Battle that was designed for this Game and making a entirely New One probably takes too much work, still I do kind of wish that they could’ve at least made some kinds of Alterations to the Bloody Marie Boss Fight somewhat, something that would’ve indicated that we do in fact Fight The Trinity themselves this time around, not directly of course, but you know what I mean, Hm, thinking about that does make me a little disappointed, i just hope we do get some other Boss-Like Battles in the Future, Regardless, this Story Mode was still pretty well done all things considered and i really hope it and the Rest of these Latest Stories gets Voiced just like the Originals ended up being and gets Voiced good too, i feel like they deserve good Voice Acting. As for the Story itself, I wasn’t sure of what I was expecting, but I certainly wasn’t expecting this Story to take us outside of New Meridian and while I was expecting there to be some revelations in a Story Mode like this, I was still not expecting what we got, It’s good that we got to learn more about the Orphanage that Marie and Patricia once lived at, but if memory serves, I thought the Orphanage they once lived at was one run by the Medici and i thought Marie was running from the Medici when she first met Double, but i guess not, huh? Granted, now that i think about it, i guess none of this was really ever specified until now, was it? I could be wrong though and this does bring Marie’s desire for revenge on the Medici into question, unless those Slave Traders were working for the Medici, then I guess this could still work, Regardless, what do any of you think? Could the Flashbacks in this be considered a Retcon or could they still work alongside the info we had already gotten prior to this Story Mode? Anyway, as interesting this Story Mode was it did bring some Questions in mind, like for example: 1. How and why did Peacock end up teaming up with Filia and Squigly? Like having Peacock here is a no brainer and i guess Filia and Squigly could be considered as the Overall Main Characters of this Game, at least that’s the impression I’ve gotten, but still out of all the other Characters in the Roster, why Filia and Squigly with Peacock? 2. How did they come up with a plan like that? I say they, but it’s mostly like Peacock who were the one who came up with a plan that crazy, still what caused her to even think of it, when she didn’t for the other Story Modes where she had a Major Role? 3. When does this Story Mode take place? I mean, one would probably think that it takes place somewhere when all of the other Story Modes End, but in that case one can wonder what might’ve happened previously that eventually lead into this Story Mode’s Beginning? Honestly, out of all of the Stories in this Game, I feel like this Storyline in particular is one that I would like to learn more about the most. Speaking of which and I think this might be the biggest one of them all, 4. What’s next from here on? If I recall correctly, I think there was talk about a Plan that once Marie would be Playable there would be a Story Mode that would move things along for a change and Aeon did mention in the Post-Credits Scene of Double’s Story Mode that at some point there would be a Timeline where all threads converge with one another, Is this Story Mode it or could we expect one Final Story Mode (for Season 1 at least) that is more akin to those Final Stories that usually seems to be in Games with Multiple Stories based on who you play as? And if the Latter is the case, would this Final Story Mode take place in its own Timeline or would it be a Continuation of this One? What do any of you think? Regardless, this a very nice Story and i hope they won’t be stopping anytime soon.

Iirc, the original backstory did give me the assumption that the orphanage was run by the medici or atleast the implication that marie witnessed what they did to Peacockbut yeah, nothing concrete was shown. It is rather peculiar tho, I guess Hilgard was keeping the kids a secret to protect them from slave traders which begs the question why they were ratted out. Were the people of the village threatened? Did double have something to do with this? why did they burn down the village? it's also interesting in regards to the webcomic, when I read it it seemed like it was more of a city than village

nah thats not happening now since the person that did the story left the game so we're stuck with encore forever with endless dlcs, plus they don't trust themself in SG2 given the main threat there is Eliza now
