Skull knight fought him for years and years and years. That's why. Skull knight went through basically the same thing as guts. The god hand that deflected skull knights attack back at him, was skull knights friend who betrayed him and their friends, same as griffith did.

Skull Knight was fighting Zodd during the majority of the eclipse, so he's the reason Skull Knight couldn't do more.

Studio Wit would be perfect for a Berserk series. They do a lot of animes before passing them off to other studios for whatever reason. Not only is the animation stellar but the emotional scenes with the music they select also fits the tone. I think they could do Berserk justice.

I like how they changed Skullknight's pose when he blocks his own sword. In the manga he blocks from the front if I remember well. In this version he blocks from the back and it gives the picture such a nice silhouette.

When he blocks his own sword without even looking, that is still one of the coolest things I have seen in an Anime.

Always remember that when Skull Knight went through his Eclipse there were 4 other different god hand members beside Void, who at that time had just become a member of the god hand. My theory is that skull Knight killed the others.

I loved Skull Knight because he was the very first supernatural being Berserk introduces to us that is 100%, unquestionably on humanity’s side. The gods, monsters and spirits of Midland embody the emotions and beliefs of man, and the Knight’s existence and clearly vast power is a middle-finger to the Godhand’s mission to prove that man is at our core a disgusting, irredeemable creature.

That skull knight entrance will always be my favorite of all time!!!

I like how skull knight just stares at void after he blocks that attack like “ya bitch I knew you knew what I was gunna do, dumbass” 😂

I will never get over the fact that Skull Knight knew he could never harm Void in this situation but ended up still going for the blow and just parrying himself. Legend.

When I first watched the ending of the 1997 anime back in 2008, I thought how in the hell did Guts get out of the Eclipse (I knew he did because the first episode is from the Black Swordsman arc)? It takes a true hero to invade the hellhole that is the Eclipse, and Skull Knight is a true hero.

The appropriate soundtrack really reinforces how heroic the Skull Knight really is being here.
