@@TheTacticalWurstwould not want to reload 30 round magazines in a jam. if you are proficient with the SKS platform, you will come out ahead of the Kalashnikov. the only drawback is potential slam fires, which are rare. clean your rifle!
Not amymore. Just saw a chinese in the gun store for 500 and a russian one right next to it for 900 Glad i got mine years ago

Nothing is as cheap as it used to be, it's known as inflation. In Canada an SKS costs the same in gold as it cost 10 or 20 years ago. They are such a bargain that I just bought three more.

You can still find them for around 400 from private sellers, nothing fancy. I would consider that much on a rifle entry level.
