The Lab is our weekly office rave up where we live stream some of the biggest and best names in dance music and this week we hand control over to good friends Bestival. Hosted by curator Rob Da Bank and to give you an insight into what the Skreamism stage will hold this year, we welcome both Skream and Derrick Carter.
Skream is one of the most in-demand DJs to have emerged from the UK in recent memory and and was one of our stars of 2013. He returns for his second appearance in The Lab. Since his last set he's remixed the likes of Duke Dumont and Rudimental, put out a great Miami mix with Pete Tong and played at Ibiza's DC:10.
Chicago house leviathan Derrick Carter is quite simply one of the greats. His sets are as edifying as they are electrifying, taking in underground house, soul, jazz and, of course, disco. His own 'Derrick Carter Does Disco' sessions have had dancefloor aficionados begging for more. This year Derrick makes up a big chunk of the Skreamizm line-up to and he's promised to dig deep into his crate of disco classics both this week and at Bestival come September.
This week's session will be hosted by Bestival's curator Rob da Bank. Rob and team Bestival have once again compiled another outstanding line-up featuring the likes of Outkast, Chic Ft Nile Rodgers, Disclosure, Sven Väth and many more.

Chi-Town, been down since '96. First party was Voodoo by Vibeonauts/Vibe Alive. Massive warehouse right next to Roberto Clemente off Western Ave.

Yes we, including myself, understand DC to be one of the goats, but please give Skream his flowers. The energy only increased from the start and I swear my face was melting around the 30 minute mark

I love house music, have decks and play quite a lot. But when Derrick Carter is playing it's like he's playing a different instrument. This guy has more talent in his little finger than I could ever have - knocks it out the park every single time.

You can play all the best tracks that you have in your arsenal but if you can't mix them... If you can't stay on beat... Then you have no business playing at this level of an event. This is what happens when producers become djs because promoters cater to them rather than those who have honed their skills when it comes to mixing. Not everyone can do both. That's why Mr. Carter gets the uptmost respect.
Ok so first of all.. That drop around 18:30 was massive! And number 2! Give the man his Smoke or at lease a vape pen. Awesome video. Really liking Skream new tracks

Larrybwoy good for you. Too many people on here dissing skream and saying DC made him look silly. It’s just a ridiculous comment to make. Skream doing his thing taking it to different places. That’s cool nothing wrong with that the room is happy. It’s just a get together after all and a bit of fun. And I say all that and I wouldn’t go out of my way to see him play. People can be so quick to act like purists and show negative. And as far as DC goes well he’s a house music legend. I’ve seen him playing records at vinyl junkies with out even using headphones. It’s Derrick carter man. Cheer up everyone

It's a mashup. Missy acapella over a different house track. DC did two nice ones (among others) with Cardi B and Childish Gambino's acapellas in the Boiler Room x Ballantine mix he did about two years back.
