Hello everyone! Today I'll be reviewing the August 2014 Skoshbox! Here's their website: skoshbox.com. They have 10-12 items per box and it's only $12! It's pretty amazing. Sorry for the quality of the video! I'll try and make it better next time xD I think my lens was dirty. THE BOX MAY BE SMALL, but the food sure packs a punch 0_0 and there were actually 11 items in the box considering they gave us two of those beautiful apple heaven bites.
Here are the products:
Green Tea Oreo | Soft Oreo with Matcha Cream Filling: 2:28
**Taste**: my little sister ate it all before I woke up =_=; I imagine it tasted really soft and the inside was creamy. There were some crumbs left and it tasted super chocolatey!
Sanko Zara Jiman Senbei | Rice Cracker with Granulated Sugar Topping: 4:00
**Taste**: This was kind of weird 0.0 the first bite I tasted soy sauce and then the sugar brought in some sweetness. And the rest of the bites were sweet ^_^ overall, it was really tasty and light.
Teryaki Burger Umaibo | Puffed Corn Stick- Teriyaki Burger Flavor: 2:53
**Taste**: This snack is so seasoned and it's so good 0.0 It's packed full of flavor and I wish it was 12 feet long (that's what she said) so I can eat it forever and ever. This is freaking delicious and it beats any kind of teriyaki dish you can eat at a restaurant.
Pocky Classic | Chocolate Cream Covered Biscuit Sticks: 4:29
**Taste**: They taste just like regular chocolate Pocky! Except, these ones had an extra crispy-ness to it. I can't really explain it, but maybe they were fresher? Anyway, if you've never had Pocky, you're seriously missing out! xD
Pokemon Ramune | Ramune (Fizzy Cider Drink) Flavored Candies *1st Pokemon item!*: 3:29
**Taste**: These were really tart and sweet.. kind of like a fizzy sweet tart! They melt in your mouth and you can really get the soda effect from it. Overall, it was really good :D It didn't taste like Ramune, but just the soda feeling was there.
Maison de Kukkia | Matcha Chocolate Cookie Sandwich: 5:45
**Taste**: I wouldn't really call this a cookie sandwich, but more of a wafer sandwich with a whipped cream matcha filling inside. Nevertheless, it was a really light and airy snack and I feel like it would be great with tea for a light afternoon snack ^_^
Kasugai Apple Gummy (x2!) | Juicy Apple Gummies: 5:27
**Taste**: Calling these gummies are an understatement. This tastes like an apple juice explosion in your mouth. The apple flavor is so strong and so nice, it's like an apple orchard is growing in your mouth as you slowly chew while expanding all the flavors of apple known to mankind. I will never look at fruit gummies the same way again.
Sakura Mochi Chocolate | Cherry Blossom & Azuki Bean Choco with Mochi Filling: 4:43
**Taste**: Like holy moly, Sakura trees in my mouth 0.0 it tasted just like how I think cherry blossoms would taste like and it just brought in a sense of freshness and the mochi filling was very chewy and extremely delicious :D I wish it was bigger so I could enjoy it more :c
Caplico Cones | Waffle Cones with Ice Cream-ey Centers (Strawberry, Vanilla, or Chocolate!): 6:15 (I now realize I was holding it upside down xD)
**Taste**: This is the HIGHLIGHT of the box. This is the best Japanese food-snack-thing that I've ever eaten. I thought it was all vanilla, but it was vanilla on the top and chocolate on the bottom. When I first opened it, it looked like the cream was really stale and dry, but no. I was wrong and this snack caught me off guard so much. As soon as I took a bite of that cream, it just melted in my mouth. It was like a leprechaun had just made my mouth it's pot of gold. (Did that make sense…?) Anyways, I just kept eating it and eating it. It took me no less than 7 seconds to bite this thing down. I kind of wished I savored it longer… The outside was crunchy and the inside wasn't creamy, but it was like aired out cream that had magic injected to it. It's like cotton candy, when it's in the bag, it's manageable and its completely dry. But as soon as your tongue hits it, it just melts and it's delicious. The cream is the same way. It's not creamy like liquid, but it's a solid and as soon as it hit my mouth, BOOM. Cream explosion (that's what she said). The shape was also very unique, it was shaped like an ice cream cone but it was swirly (as you can see on the wrapper). I love this item so much :0
French Papiro | Hard Cookie shell with Creamy Green Tea Filling: 6:45
**Taste**: This is exactly as it's described! It was a hard cookie shell with an amazingly strong matcha filling. This was absolutely delicious!
Overall, I definitely recommend Skoshbox if you love Japanese food and candy! For $12, it's very cheap compared to other similar subscription boxes which cost from $30-$40. I would definitely buy this again if I had the chance.
