    Had my airbag light on display since before summer. Thanks to this video I removed the b-panels and were able to disconnect the airbag-connector to the belt-reel hidden behind the b-pillar. Sprayed some contact-spray and voila.. airbag-light disappered! 😊 (After deleteing the error-code with an odb2). Many thanks harvey! 👏👏👏

    @@HatBoyHarvey My Fabia 1.2 12V is drinking about 1 liter motor oil in about 500 miles. Compression is ok, so.. I think that could be from the head. But... I'm talking about this problem with some mechanic and the opinions are very different. Someone is telling me .. The problem comes from the piston rings... Someone is telling me is the cylinder head, valves guides. What do you think?

    @@astore3757 usualy high oil condumption is associated with a worn engine (various parts, seals, piston oil scraper rings etc). If the car has covered high mileage/km then it maybe burning oil. Rev the engine and look at the exhaust - smoking and it will be using oil. Other reasons are oil leaks - clean engine and observe for this. ECU receiving incorrect metrics from sensors giving poor running - VCDS can be used to pick up faulty values. sensors and oil leaks are the cheaper roots for a fix an engine rebuild can be costly. Hope this helps :-)

    have a look at: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oZuJw6eRZ6vRoco.html under this is an adjustment screw for the handbrake, but you should have a look at the rear brake mechanism first as this can seize with corrosion and may need freeing/cleaning up. If you have drum brakes you may need new shoes, so worth a check, if discs, free the mech/cable, overhaul discs/pads and fit new, if needed. Hope this helps :-)

    Hi, I've followed all the steps on this video but my seat belt still won't retract. The roller mechanism moves freely at the bottom, but the belt seems to be loose and saggy around it. Any idea of what I could possibly do? Thanks Martin

  • @HatBoyHarvey

    @HatBoyHarvey

    Жыл бұрын

    You say it moves freely, but wont retract, do you mean it does retract, just not all the way? If this is the case is the tension feel the same as the other side? If it feels the same it can only be to clean the belt and thoroughly dry it out. If still no joy then use silicon belt spray. If the mechanism is not locking it then it has jammed open and you will need to free it up.

    Thank you. My 2003 Fabia does not have electric connections in the seatbelts. That means it has no pretensioner? In an accident it only blocks the belt? The part has one cable connected to a plate that is pressed with the screw when put in place. Do you know for what it is?

    @@HatBoyHarveyHello HBH. Thanks. I meant that there are no electric connectors. To explode the pyrotechnics normally there's a two wire 12V connector. The cable i am talking about it is a little steel cable inside a plastic tube like a bicycle brake cable. • @HatBoyHarvey

    If you have been in an accident the mechanism will,, lock up automatically and you won't be able to feel it up until it is professionally released. If it is temporary faulty, no need to take panels off, you should clean all the belt itself with warm soapy water then thoroughly dry it out and it should then work easily. You can also get some silicone spray and spray the whole belt in that to get it to work. If the belt has been stood in damp country a long time, dry out out to release. I did a video on this somewhere :-)

    Today was the first dry day in months. Tried just dragging out the belt and clean it but It wouldnt retract at all at this point. So I bit the bullet and removed the trim. turns out belts do not retract with a buttload of dust and grime on the retractor. I carefully cleaned the retractor unit as far as I could reach in without taking it out and put a very light dose of silicon spray on the drum opposite of the gas generator, as this is where the retractor spring should sit. The pyro retractor unit is on the other side and I made sure to not touch it more than necessary. Works like charm now. :)

    I can understand you don't want to sand and spray the bumper yourself, especially if it is badly damage, so you could get another one the same colour from a local scrap yard/online auction sites, or if it is in sound condition just scratched I would get it re-sprayed at a local body shop. Shop around for quotes as this is a common job they are best suited to do and will make the car look great again. The dash would be a scrap yard/online auction sites, again assuming you don't want to go to your local Skoda outlet. I have the same white marks on the bottom of my rear doors too and is a common thing, maybe once the leak is fixed this could be cleaned with upholstery cleaner. Hope this helps :-)
