For all haters, this is Skoda chasis with an old Skoda 1.4 litre OHV 8 valve engine with pushrods, just added turbo and modern ignition... There is no V8 engine inside... Credit where it's due, this build definitely deserves some respect... Would it survive crashing into a cardboard box? Probably not, but it kicked some supercar asses in this event for sure...

I realised that its original engine just when i listen it...we had this car at home...and sure light weight is the trick, it must have max 800kg...

Brve little Skoda. Respect to the driver and engineer. Skoda has a long lasting race history.

I always loved these old Skoda's. There wasn't many of them in England when I was growing up but I live in Hungary now and I see them all the time and they still make me smile. Great rear engine cars and really underappreciated.

Power and traction because of the rear engine rear drive combo. It's what made the 911 so great. Great sleeper. You humiliated them. Love it!

One of the funniest things I ever saw was when Skoda had the 130RS I think it was called; it basically had a rally engine in it. Anyway there was 2 lads at the lights in an XR3i and they thought they'd be funny and race this Skoda off the lights. They went on amber, the Skoda went on Green; I'd love to have seen the XR3 driver's face when it blew past them like they were going backwards. Funniest thing I'd ever seen to that point. I was in my early 20's and had a Skoda Estelle 2 myself.

Oh my god! Massive wonders with keeping up with the GT40! Well, now that's some incredible performance there!

Years ago I worked as a cooling tech for a radiator company,a rather tatty very low,white 120 turned up for a rad.I noticed the cage and seats immediately,after popping the engine cover we found the owner had fitted a tuned Lancia volumex engine,sounded the nuts and went like shit off a stick!,great stuff.

It is very nice to see a "simple" Skoda from 80s, (not far from stock version) to beat all the big, muscled, too rich supercar. It is better than Davide against Goliah!

I miss my old Skoda RS from the 70's the model before this car in the video. That was stock putting a turbo on a Skoda in the early 80's was behind my means . But it was light and handled well I suprized many other cars with that little nimble car. I like what the guy did here on the outside it looks just like the basic road car nothing much gives away it's secret. A true sleeper car . I would have loved to have done this back when I had mine .

I had one and loved it. My previous car had been a mini metro which struggled to reach 70. Some teen-ager asked me if the skoda would do 30? Idiot! I used to do 70 in 3rd. When I took the ferry to France I regularly did 140kph with the feeling it would do more, but it was 10years old when I got it and didn't want to push it too hard. You could stash an amazing amount of booze behind the rear seats. Most comfortable car I've ever driven!

Years ago I had a friend who's dad owned a garage , they took a bog standard Ford Sierra estate (1.6 litre) with all the badges still on and dropped a Sierra Cosworth engine in it. As standard those make about 200 brake horsepower , he bumped the boost up so she was making around 450 brake! Uprated the brakes ,suspension reinforced the chassis etc but it still looked pretty standard. Many a great time was had at the lights.....that thing would blow away ANYTHING.

I had a red Skoda 120 in the early 90s (just after the fall of the wall). Good car, just one small problem: the picture! Here in Belgium, other drivers would have put themselves in the ditch to "have the pleasure" of overtaking me, just because this car had a poor and unemployed image. But one thing is for sure, the price-quality ratio is unbeatable!

@@kytekat Ta Škodovka jim ujede možná tak na 500 m, pak se do toho vloží koníci a Škodu nechajé v prachu i bez tuningu. Měl štěstí, že tam nestartovalo některé novější turbo od Porsche. Chtěl bych vidět, jak by se držel na 1km. kzread.info/dash/bejne/qod8rpeYqazceaw.html

no ved ano, ale mna zarazilo hlavne to, ze niekto chvali Skodovku ale uz nenapise, ze ta Skodovka mala spraveny tunning kdezto konkurencne sportiaky ziaden extra tunning neurobili so svojim motorom... a pritom by sa tiez dalo vymysliet hocco... nemusi to byt ani turboduchadlo zrovna
