@@bedobedo1240 I’m a 1a3, Airborne Mission Systems Operator, although I’m on an aircraft for another afsc (1U0, RPA Sensor Operator). Sadly the job specifics don’t matter since pretty soon all aircrew jobs will be merging into one job code 😅 But I operate on the RQ-4, a real life Call of Duty UAV to put it in simple terms, job itself is not that difficult but rewarding and the schedule is very off the wall

From my son loving jets. To watching your videos. To finally getting a ship date(12/5). Appreciate it all man, see you on the other side 🫡.

I took the PiCat myself just a month ago and scored a 96 on it, it took about a month for me to take the verification test which I did just this Friday infact and so I didn't remember any of my answers. Luckily I had more time to prepare since it had been a month since the last test so when it turned me over to the full test I got a 98! Thanks for all of your help with these videos JodywithaWhy, they have really helped prepare me for entering the airforce!

I took a test in the office of my recruiter and I took another test one day before the meps but I failed I don’t know what happen so no I can go to the Meps am gonna wait 30 days again … never give up

You mentioned only being able to take this one time within a two year period. Where is that stated in the SOPG and doesn’t that overrule the rule of if an applicant has taken ASVAB they are ineligible to take PiCAT?

For the afqt part of the test just study word knowledge and paragraph comprehension. My friend just studied those subjects and he got a 67. (His words) I'm finna go to meps to see if it's true

I would actually recommend the opposite. Study math knowledge and arithmetic. Those are the two areas I’ve seen boost scores dramatically.

Hey man. I still use the Braun 9. That’s my go to. You just gotta make sure you don’t press hard against your skin. Just let it float across. And a good wash and face moisturizer.

Yep. Your job is protected to you throughout training and deployments. You would just have to provide orders to your job.

I'm 35, married, 2 kids, house with the white picket fence, etc... I have always had a calling to become an officer in the military. My #1 choice(no surprise to you) is the Air Force. I do not have a stem degree but have held management positions for over 15 years and have several technical degrees. I am contemplating the AF Reserves or the Army National Guard as it seems they are more willing to consider me for a commission. I am grateful for your time!

Just study anything related to the test so you can pass.

I took the PiCat and did fairly well but I was studying for like a month, listened to multiple ASVAB practice audio books. I took about 4 hours to complete it and I guessed on some answers. Now I have to take a verification test and I hope I don't see the ones I had to guess. I have my scrap paper from the math section but it's kind of hard to follow when trying to remember the questions. So I'm back hitting the books and watching videos.

I took the PiCat and had to verify my scores. To be honest, it was about 30ish questions, and I remembered most of them, the others I made educated guesses on. If you don't brain dump your PiCat, you'll pass the verification test. Good luck!

Hello Jody, I have a question. So I am going to be joining soon, and i have a pilonodial cyst that causes some discomfort when i’m doing sit-ups, im worried that when the time comes for PT, do they allow you to switch sit-ups for another exercise? Or do i need to let my recruiter know this? I have my asvab test tomorrow. So I guess there’s still time to let my recruiter know? What do you think? Are sit-ups absolutely required? Thanks.

I just tried doing sit-ups and it’s very uncomfortable because of the positioning of my cyst, the sit-ups applies direct pressure on where it’s at.

I would definitely recommend you talk with your recruiter. There are no alternative exercises at basic training for sit ups. If you can’t perform the exercise, it will most disqualify you from joining. Talk with your recruiter and let them know. Also, I would recommend talking with your doctor, and see what they think as far as correcting the condition. I hope that helps.

Not necessarily unless it's medical.. other than that, you have the same chances and opportunity as others who want to go Blue to Gold. Furthermore, the career field you commission into is based on the needs of the AF at the time.

Unfortunately it wouldn’t. You’d still be required to meet the score requirements for your desired jobs.

If you took a picat at the recruiting office, then take and pass a verification test at MEPS, you will be stuck with the original score you scored on the PICAT

I applied since August but my recruiters don't reach out or don't answer.. perhaps they're not interested in recruiting me. Decided to take the practice asvab online without any studying and got a 54. Mainly because I did great in math but, I know nothing about vehicles or electrical work. The vehicle stuff doesn’t affect your overall score. It does affect the mechanical portion of the ASVAB and will limit your mechanical opportunities. If you’re only focused on improving your overall score, the math knowledge, arithmetic reasoning, word knowledge and paragraph comprehension sections are the only ones that matter.

Hey Jody. Quick question my dude! So I’m in Miami and my active duty recruiter is telling me either retest or take security forces. These are my scores: Overall: 41 M-16 A-39 G-44 E-27. I looked on the Air Force website and there’s several jobs I could be with a G44. However, she’s saying nothing is available right now. Key word: right now. I told her I have a list and I don’t mind waiting for one to open up. She said she doesn’t wanna wait and told me I needed to add security forces on my list. I really don’t wanna go in thru that field and if I add it, I’ll obviously get it since it’s available. What the heck do I do? She said going open general is not even a conversation either. Please help me man!!

Hey Nicole. Taking an open general contract is possible, but they are limited. Which is probably why your recruiter said take the security forces job. Here’s the thing, the recruiter is telling you to list something they think you’d be able to book. Right now with your list, they don’t think they’ll be able to book something for you. If she’s saying retest or list other careers, then that’s really the only option at this point. Keep in mind if you retest, you have the potential to score lower than before and the new score will be you official score. You can always see what another recruiter would say, but because the open general contracts are so rare, you may run into the same issue with another. Since it seems you absolutely do no want security forces, I’d recommend you first study for the asvab and then elect to take it again. I hope that helps. Good luck.

Sometimes your browser fights back. I’ve had luck with putting the browser in comparability view. Hit the gear icon in the upper right or tools on the menu bar-comparability view settings-hit add. Hopefully that works.

No. A resume is not a requirement to join, unless of course your recruiter asked for it. If they did, that’s their standard and you’d want to follow their standard.
