AMAZING win over Gonzaga, extremely proud to be a Baylor Bear. I'm extremely happy that we were able to bring home the title but I'm a little sad about the story this year could have been. Hear me out: Baylor and Gonzaga were head and shoulders above the rest of the competition the entire year leading up to February. Had it not been for a 3 week COVID pause I truly believe that it would have been likely that we would have seen 2 undefeated teams in the final. After the pause the Bears were obviously and understandably rusty. They literally did not play a game or have a single practice for 3 WEEKS. Had they not halted all team activities I don't think they would have lost a game. Imagine having the 2 undisputed, undefeated and unchallenged best teams in the country playing for all the marbles. 2 undefeated teams going into the final, only 1 team leaving undefeated and being the first to do so since 1975!!! You couldnt write a better story if you tried. It was an amazing game and once again I'm extremely happy for my Bears but I'm sad about what could have been. Sic'em Bears!

Baylor would've won the title last season had the tournament been played.

Everyone got caught up in the Gonzaga vs UCLA, OT/Game winner and basically forgot that earlier that day Baylor completely man handled a #2 seeded Houston team

Yeah pretty much. After that I went to the casino to put money on Baylor. I initially had Houston winning it but after seeing them get destroyed, I knew Baylor was gonna whoop Gonzaga.

True but they were two #1 seeds and one was undefeated. So even though Baylor was better they still weren't the favorites, which means it was an upset.

If you didn’t see this coming you had to be blind because Baylor was too aggressive for Gonzaga from the start

the few people saying "gonzaga was fatigue" FOH, baylor made them look fatigued. baylor man handled them. i laughed when the commentator said literally two mintues into the game "gonzaga looks fatigue from UCLA game" bruh they had 48 hours to rest

It's because everyone in the media wanted to see Gonzaga win. Baylor was disrespected all year. Gonzaga was 26-0 playing the WCC, where the only other tournament team was BYU lol. I understand that they had big wins against Kansas, West Virginia, Iowa, and Virginia, but those games happened back in Nov/Dec. They weren't challenged at all since. Baylor on the other hand played in the big 12 (Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Kansas, West Virginia). Six tournament teams that they played against ALL season long, so they were constantly battle tested, and only lost 2 games after their 3 week COVID pause. Baylor should have been the HEAVY favourites coming into this.

I started laughing when people said that “Gonzaga beat there best completion they will have, UCLA is the only good team besides them left” They clearly listened to only the media and didn’t watch Baylors game, they just have so much skill and can go on 10-0 runs without a blink

Skip, I watched some highlights with Baylor and Arkansas. Baylor looked like a NBA team. Fast, strong and can hit threes, lights out. Was not surprised they beat Gonzaga.

No clue why everybody thought Gonzaga was gonna win. Baylor’s been the better team all year!

They reminded me of my Detroit Pistons when Chauncey and RIP played but on college level. Bunch of good players

@@TheCrzymofo94 Yeah it's too bad they could never get back to the Finals after their loss to the Spurs. That 2005 Finals was awesome and I wish the Pistons had made it back instead of Miami or Cleveland in the following years.

Vital was a beast on those boards. They need to talk about his contributions because he gave those guards opportunities to be stars in their roles. Vital definitely was a star. Huge props big guy. He went up against a 6"10 and a 6"7 and manhandled them. He was exceptional. Phagler was an excellent player and 3 point shooter. Mayer, Tchotchke, were just hyped and their enthusiasm was contagious. I've watched that game about 50 times. Baylor was simply, "The Best" "better than all the rest". Tina Turner...

yep, outphysicaled them. Not shocking though, Gonzaga only played 5 or 6 real games during the season+tournament. Meanwhile Baylor's been battle tested all year

I had the Zags winning. I knew that Baylor was good, but I didn't expect them to lockdown Gonzaga on that level. That was the key.

Lol I’m surprised no one knew about Baylor. I knew their defense was suffocating and rebounding was excellent when Shariffe Cooper was playing the best basketball in college and got absolutely clamped when he played Baylor earlier on in the season. I saw this coming before the game even started.

Because every year there's a media darling, and this year they picked Zaga. Baylor's been on the up & up for the last couple of years, and probably could have won the tournament last year (definitely not with a blowout, but I still think they could've won). Baylor will never be anyone's media darling. We as fans have accepted it and prefer it that way.

As a BU grad, I'm a bit biased...I honestly believe that Gonzaga was one of the best teams of recent years. Sadly, for them, they ran into what may have been one of the ten best teams of all time. Just an opinion.

Baylor was set on winning/dominating, just flat out determined. When all things are equal, determination is the deciding factor.

I knew Gonzaga was going to get exposed because when you haven't played anybody on your schedule sh** like this will happen

@@DylanBlakeGolf no Baylor was just way better. It shouldn't have been an upset cause Baylor had more athletic players than them. My NBA comparison is the 2012 OKC Thunder vs the 2012 Dallas Mavericks. OKC had the athletes and the Mavs didn't. So OKC destroyed them with their pace. And physicality.

My Arkansas Razorbacks played Baylor much tougher than the Zags did so I'm proud of how good we did we'll be back next year!! 👌🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💯

I couldn't predict UCLA, but I picked Gonzaga-Michigan and Baylor-Houston. Had Baylor beating Michigan in the final. I had Baylor winning it months ago, so I'm glad that worked out lol.

Suggs said he watched the UCLA game over and over again and was enamored at how so many of his sports heroes reached out to him... Big mistake! He should've stayed off social media and watched nothing but footage on them Baylors guards. Maybe then they would've had a chance

If you want to show young kids how to play defense show them that Baylor game...... Outstanding defensive showing

Hey man, be proud of what your team did. Getting this high in the tournament which Houston hadn’t really done since Olajuwon.

Something tht stood out to me was the Baylor players kept their hands and feet movingbon defense. They overwhelmed Gonzaga!

I think people got caught up in Gonzaga’s record without looking at their schedule. They didn’t play a lot of good teams. Baylor has been the real deal all year and it showed.

I'm not surprised. I had Baylor winning going in to the Final Four. Going in to the the final it never occurred to me that Baylor might lose. To me this wasn't an upset, it was expected.

basketball is simple. Guards were too fast. Bigs used their strength to get offensive rebounds. Guards hound you on defense. All you can do is tip your cap to Baylor

First time I actually 100% agree with Skip

The Final Four really clarified things imo. UCLA was good but they had no business hanging 90 on Gonzaga. Houston was even better than UCLA and tougher but they got manhandled by Baylor. After that, I knew Baylor would beat the Zags no problem. It wasn't surprising seeing Gonzaga unable to stop anything Baylor did. And of course Baylor could also be great on defense so the Zags had no chance.

I knew Baylor would win, great defensive team, if you're more physical and can play great defense then you'll win every time
