Wow this course looked way more challenging 10 years ago.

I did the Jim Russel school there back in the early nineties. Always was wide coming off turn 3 and put dirt in the air..They hated that..Didn't like the left hand turn after the cork screw because it was downhill and super fast..."Sketch"y I think you said. Place did wonders for my overall driving skills.

I did 1:40:9 in offline "demo" version (Which have 5-6 cars and 5-6 tracks). What i mean it s simple it one version dowloaded by torrent and is a very old offline version. Is the car or the truck simple buffed truogh the years?

is a 1:40 a standard time expected of most drivers? after some practice on iRacing, i managed to run quite a few 1:40's with a default setup skip barber car, my fastest being 1:40.544 is there any consistent difference between the games times, and the real life times? is the setup on this car different than the default setup in iRacing? does the different start/finish location make a difference? are tire compounds different perhaps? there seem to be differences.. i noticed on the last corner, the driver brakes at the 3 board, and i brake at the 2. are the boards different in the game? also the corner at 0:53 i dont "light brake" at all, i just let off and "whoosh" my car through. this is putting my head in a pretzel >_

I have the same version of the game and I also cant get close to 1.36 or 1.37... I think there is a difference and in the online game the cars have more grip.

the top iRacers can hit 1:34- 36, so grip and good overrev seem to favor the IRacing SBRS car, plus a lack of g-forces and consequences allow a driver to get verrry brave with cars...

A bit late but it has to do with racing simulators always having perfect or at least stable track conditions and because IRL you need the balls to drive fast.

@@paoloh885 well, i also have over 15 years sim experience and am extremely fast (world records and such). this is an old comment, and i was likely drunk or excited or both. but it looks like i was asking because the braking points were different, as in, mine could be later by an entire board comfortably, one corner i literally DONT brake and yet my time was slower. and i wanted to understand what that's all about. its not because of what you said. your a noob. im seeing that i commented multiple times on this video apparently, and according to my other comment, after i actually obtained a legal updated copy of the game, i was waaaaay faster than a 1:40 like i thought i should be. the "borrowed 2008" version of iRacing i had been using was outdated.

@@AVERYhornyMrDinosaur Lap times in simulators are naturally faster than laptimes IRL because of consistent track conditions and no G-forces and adrenaline/fear of crashing having an effect. In a sim you can push over the limit without consequences because you can just restart after crashing out while that's not the case IRL. If you think that you can do a sub 1:40 in this car IRL you are delusional. I can beat Hamilton's 2019 monaco pole lap in Assetto Corsa but i sure as hell wouldn't be able to do it in the real thing.

my iRacing _is a "borrowed" 2008 offline version._ maybe thats why? gonna be getting the real thing eventually. this really bothers me.. EDIT: my iRacing is now an up to date version and i can easily beat a 1:40 by alot like i thought i could. i knew this wasnt that fast! i was so confused for so long! (ノಥ益ಥ)ノ

I dont undestand if the car in the years became faster (2008 borrowed version has slower skip baber and today is faster)
