Skinwalker - The Terrifying Evil Entities of Navajo Culture
Skinwalkers are legends from Navajo folklore, which means "he who walks on four legs." According to the legend, they are witches who use animal skins to transform and gain powers. They use these powers to frighten or control others, shrouded in mystery and fear, because talking about them is taboo, believed to attract their malevolent attention.

Really like this. Feel like there is not enough on NA mythology
I'm always yelling out to the local Skinwalkers at my family home that I come in peace and propose friendship. No invitations yet.

Maybe they don't get that proposal often. Shy? Cautious? Maybe try flowers or a sacrifice?
Skinwalkers can only animorph by wearing the skin of animals, hence the name. Modern skinwalkers r of Supernatural’s distant cousin to werewolves by turning into regular looking dogs, Harry Potter’s American community name for animagus, and powerful mystic shapeshifters from Teen Wolf

Cool
Evil is a matter of perspective
I did my research about what they can do and it surprised me to an extent
I wonder if George R.R Martin researched Navajo folklore when he came up with skinwalkers (or as they're better known as "wargs") in the A Song of Ice and Fire books?
In order to become a Skinwalker, the Navajo has to sacrifice the person they love most in the world.

Well that would make sense with my idea that this may have been the natives description of some kind of psychopathy. Their eyes blacken over & their animalistic rage takes over~then they’re back to hidden behind their mask with a flashy smile in an instant. The fear this instills when experienced, I definitely agree with the descriptive terms of shapeshifter & skinwalker!
5:50 that's why I hate them.
Lol the Internet is a funny and silly place 😂
Fear is a MuthaphukkeR
I am so 😊☺️
So I’ve been doing research on Skin Walkers for a book I’m wanting to write. I’m curious if anyone more familiar with them has an answer to my question. Is there an alias that people like to use to not say Skinwalker? I know the word is taboo so I want to try and be respectful and use a place holder name if there is one. My second question is more so about the pelts they use to change into different animals. Does it strictly have to be an animal? What’s stopping them from hypothetically using the skin of another person or another creature of folklore?
