beard speeds up the eating and leave in the banter which he's good at. makes it seem more casual than he's actually taking it. good job.

I think beard could do 20 in under 10 minutes but he was respectful and left a time that could still be challenged. That being said, well done for beating the record.

You have to remember that Beard is a pro and trains for this stuff. He made it look like a walk in the park because it was easy for him, BUT it was easy for him because of his training. I'm sure he could crush the record you set, either time and/or amount if he knew it ahead of time. That definitely isn't a knock against you, what you did is beyond impressive, but he stopped at 20 because he had the record and he had about an hour to spare on the old time. Good luck making it to Coney Island! Just keep practicing and one day you can make this look (and feel) easy too. Nice video!

yea I've noticed Beard does tend to stop once he's reached a new record when he could easily keep going...there was 1 video where he jokingly said how he didn't wanna dethrone the current record holder cause they were a hometown guy lol But the op is correct you did an amazing job William considering the fact that you aren't a professional eater like Mr. Beard, lol hope you get to the level you want, good luck

Ummmm very impressive but a proper timer onscreen would've proved it to be true, no timer on display and lots of editing is very suspect.. Very strange not to have a live timer on display when you're trying to beat a record🤷

I understand. I’m still new at recording these videos so I’ll take that into consideration for future videos. For confirmation, the restaurant manager had has own timer that he was watching that was the official timer. I just bring my timer along to remind me where I am in the challenge. Absolutely, that's exactly how things work, in fact after this record was beaten I hear it was given to a 9 year old kid who ate half a hotdog. C'mon mate, if he got the title in the store it's because he did it. Just like beard heavily cuts and edits his video and usually doesn't have a physical timer on the table for you to stare at but instead has an edited timer which could literally say any time on it... Just congratulate the fella and move on.

Just watched the Beard video today, and now this one popped up. Impressive chili dog eating! Actually, you only had to beat the amount to win. You could have been over on the time, and it still resets the record. If someone ties you, with a quicker time, then of course, they would have it..

stopped what I was doing to watch this... guessing those were 120grams-ish each, so like 5.5 to 6 pounds minimum, plus liquids... Not an easy feat! Not ever challenge has to be about speed, plus it's good to leave a challenge that someone else has a chance to beat in the future! For speed contests I like to do 1 pound challenges and see how fast I can improve on them, trying to eat a 400 gram pizza in under 1 minute... practice it twice in a row... or easier food I like to speed eat is lasagna and burritos. Cheers, keep the momentum going!

Stay humble many pro eaters will leave room for others to beat them because they want it to be still achievable look at many top eaters like Joel and man others they don't want to kill it because they can they want local not competitors to try if they kill it from the get go the challenge for the restaurant becomes pointless. It needs to be obtainable from the non competitive perspective so keep that in mind!!! I followed good luck with your journey!

I’ll tell ya like I told everyone else. I’m deeply sorry for the timer issue. I’m new at KZread and I’m doing my best to fix the problem. If it would make you happy, I’ll go back someday soon and beat my own record with a timer because this actually was pretty easy compared to other challenges I’ve done.

Had my timer beside me. The owner was watching the official timer. I’m still new at making videos so I know now I need to have a visible timer. I’ve been doing these challenges for years and never needed to worry about an on screen timer, but I’ll do my best to try to fix this and be as transparent as possible. Also, I used iMovie for all the editing which only allows you to speed things up by 2Xs. I don’t think you understand how time works. The challenge took me less than 16 minutes. Most of it sped up 2Xs would yield a clip a little over 8 minutes long (due to parts where I slow down) then there was the intro and some interview stuff after the challenge which is why the video is the length it is. Dude, I’m brand new at this. I just ordered a timer and it’ll be present in all the videos from now on. I’ll even refer to it as the acid man if that’ll make you happy.
