Skinless Re-Attaches Their Old Skin
As the summer of 2013 came to a close, and hot on the heels of dropping their latest record Join Us, sludge metal mongers Gunther Weezul headlined the nearly sold-out Annihilation Fest in Clifton Park, NY. The band's bassist Joe Keyser, aspiring barroom wrestler and an old friend of the men behind Shed My Skin, agreed to an interview alongside his brother Jason Keyser, the best frontman Origin have ever had and a big reason for their continued rise in the extreme metal world.
Joe is a founding member of Skinless, who have been performing as of late, having announced their reunion not too long ago. This time, however, the band returns to their roots with Sherwood Webber on vocals instead of Joe's brother Jason, who performed on the band's final album Trample The Weak, Hurdle The Dead.
This interview shows the Keyser brothers at their best, shooting the shit about a range of topics from the reasons for the departure of Skinless' ex-members (both of whom are now flying the Origin flag around the globe), New York Hardcore, Game of Thrones, other awesome regional NY death metal acts Comic Arson and Tentacles, and generally just being Keysers.
Now re-signed to Relapse Records, keep your ears primed for rape as Skinless prepare their return to the forefront with a long-overdue new album. They are scheduled to perform their first local show in many years in support of Stigmata and Section 8 this January. Slam for Uncle Sam...the Capital District underground is coming back in a big way.
