SKINCARE DUPES THAT ARE BETTER THAN HIGH END!

Dupe time! Today, I'd be comparing affordable skincare dupes with their high end counterparts. We'll be talking ingredients, application, and results. In some of these cases, the affordable, drugstore skincare dupes perform BETTER than the high end, hyped up products!

Morning Lauren:) Skincare dupes tricky but skincare dupes that are affordable trickier and then skincare dupes that are affordable AND cruelty free??? Trickiest of them all 😉. Thank you so much for this! I’m loving the Milani cleansing balm as well as the DermaE overnight peel! When I was using the Milani balm I was actually thinking “wow - this seems very similar to my beloved Farmacy “ lol. I feel the same way about the CT Magic Cream - if I’m spending that much $$ on a moisturizer I want it to have active proven ingredients. Speaking of which..... I just put in my Sephora cart the new DE cream you recently reviewed- pricey but jam packed full of effective active ingredients. I would love to see more of these:) This was fantastic - thank you so much Lauren ☺️ Have a beautiful week💕 Xo Tammy🇨🇦

I love the Milk Vegan Moisturizer. It’s a thicker moisturizer, easily absorbed and no fragrance. It’s great for maturing, dry skin. I think it would be good for more sensitive skin. Plus you can buy a mini that will give you a good idea of how it will work for you. Take care Lauren! 💚

Hi Lauren some interesting comparisons - plus who doesn't want affordable EFFECTIVE skincare? I do like the paula's choice products i've tried, but I also like a lot of the Korean beauty products. The Korean skincare philosophy of using gentle products to maintain the health of the skin, suits my very dry/sensitive/rosacea and eczema prone skin. The focus on actives in Western skincare isn't always in line with what my skin can tolerate. I do use some actives and reach for Western products to give me those, but for soothing, hydration and moisture many K beauty products are excellent. The Inkey list's original products are mostly really good (I'm not so keen on the hair products etc) and they're an affordable brand. The yes to avocado line hasn't reached the UK as yet, but I'll try that cleanser when it does. I can't use fragranced skincare, so many of the products shown aren't suitable for me. My skin doesn't really tolerate AHA's very well due to the low ph needed, but I like the BHA 1% from the PC calm line used only on the t zone. I use a lot of thick moisturisers (I have very dry skin), so that area can get mildly clogged - this used once or twice a week clears that up. I don't get breakouts - I'm 49 with very dry skin, but can still get a few clogged pores. The BHA isn't irritating (I don't use during a rosacea flare - ouch) for me used when needed. As I use so little the travel size lasts me months, making it fairly affordable to use. Best wishes.

So is that tight face feeling normal with hyaluronic acid serums? I bought my first hyaluronic acid serum a little while ago and it makes my face feel tight & uncomfortable for an hour or so and then that feeling goes away. I haven't been using it because I thought maybe my skin found it a little irritating but when you mentioned that you feel that tight feeling with the inkey list's hyaluronic acid now I'm thinking maybe that's normal sometimes?

Random question: do you put on the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream before or after spf? I’ve always put it on before but everyone talks about it as a “primer” and I think with spf on top, the glow factor is kind of reduced. If I remember right it used to have spf in it but then they took it out.

Hi! I love that you're a nurse and give so much info! I subscribed before the first video I watched was even half way over (the 2nd part to this video). I am really hoping you can help me. I love makeup but was never taught about skincare. I am now 40 and trying to learn. I am seeing some faint smile lines and forehead lines. I have combination skin (gets somewhat oily in my t-zone and moreso in the summer). What I am trying to achieve is firming, brightening, smoothing, pore reducing and to get rid of the fine lines. Right now, in the morning after cleansing, I am using (in this order) The ordinary lactic acid 10%+HA, Hyaluronic acid 2%+B5, Niacinamide 10%+Zinc 1%, Perricone MD face firming serum, SPF, followed by moisturizer which at the moment, I am finishing up the No 7 Restore & Renew Face & neck multi action day cream. At night, I need it simple because I have a ton of health problems and by that time, I am sick, in a lot of pain and exhausted so I use the Neutrogena rapid wrinkle repair retinol oil after cleansing, Perricone MD firming evening repair and the same moisturizer because I need a new night time one. I just purchase Elf's Holy Hydration face cream, their vitamin C serum and the Inkey List Glycolic acid toner. I don't know where to put these in my routine. If you can help me with that and/or let me know if there's something I'm missing, PLEASE let me know. My big question is about my eyes. I have had bad allergies all of my life so I grew up rubbing them constantly. It has caused small wrinkles under my eye but bigger wrinkles on my upper eyelid along with saggy, loose skin. I know the only way to get rid of excess skin is to surgically remove it but before I can afford that, I'm trying to figure out what to use to help in the meantime because it really drives me crazy! Right now, what I have for my eyes are a bunch of different things that I try for a short time and if it don't notice anything, get something else. I know I should probably use them for longer before switching. I have the Neutrogena retinol eye cream, Roc retinol correxxion deep wrinkle filler, Roc retinol correxxion eye cream Loreal Revitalift eye, No 7 protect and perfect intense advanced eye cream (not had for very long) and Exuviance age reverse eye contour. I just purchased Elf's Holy Hydration eye cream but have not used it yet. I use whatever I reach for honestly. The only thing I do know is that I can't use retinol after Roc's deep wrinkle filler because it has some retinol in it. Am I using things in the right order? Is there something I should add? Where do I put these new products in my routine? And ANY help for firming, lifting, reducing wrinkles and my dark undereyes(although they could be from me being sick) would be appreciated more than you know!! Oh, if you can recommend affordable options, that would be great because things are tight right now (I got the Perricone and Exuviance products for extremely cheap) but if you can't think of an affordable option for me eyes, please let me know. Thank you so much!!
