    To remove all that spots in a video footage you don't think it'll produce a blurry effect and loose all of texture details? Note: it's just my opinion

  • @Cubichead

    @Cubichead

    tauqeer ahmad If you just do the first step of this technique, yeah! You will end up with a blurred and smooth surface. But if you continue adding the whole setup, you can bring back the details, which in most cases it starts putting back the grain, then small details and then big ones.

    When I try to make a roto for the second blur it has no effect (the whole image stays blurred). When I check the roto seperately, it says: non-existent channel used for mask. What am I doing wrong? :S

    Charley van der Krogt Did you make the default roto node? The shortkey for it is "O".

    Charley van der Krogt If so, and still you r getting an error, try this, I'm not sure if it's gonna work in youtube comments, select ur roto inside Nuke, copy it [CTL+C] and paste it [CTL+V] here in a comment, so I can check it out.

    You're probably trying to plug the blur into the roto as a mask, which by default will be looking for an alpha channel, which the original image doesn't have (hence the error). You need to plug the roto (which creates an alpha) into the blur's mask pipe.

    hi, is it possible in After Effects?

  • @Cubichead

    @Cubichead

    7 жыл бұрын

    ivancoart Yes, it's possible. The concept just needs to be translated into AE; blur a footage, define the difference between the blurred footage and its original form, then add that difference to a new blurred footage.

  • @ivan_12345

    could you explain it in a more detailed way? I don't know how to "define the difference" I know 2 ways of fr.sep. in PS, but don't see neither High pass filter, nor Apply image in AE...

    this doesn't work. follow this tutorial over and over again. when I place the roto in as a mask, nothing happens. I cannot see what you do differently from what I do and I get nothing where I see what you get. thanks anyway.

    Sorry to hear that, maybe some of the default parameters of your nodes are different than mine, for instance your default mask setting is set to a different channel :-? Otherwise, I am using vanilla version of nuke and if you follow my steps exactly one by one, you should end up with the same result

    MilesBellas I totally agree, but that’s not the point of this video, don’t you think? The point of this video is to demonstrate the effect of this gizmo, and I just found freckles to be something that covers most of the skin, so I can retouch it. P.S: I personally do like freckles and wouldn’t retouch it at any costs ;)
