The center is where all the weight will be. The dowels will not be enough to support the outside.

This is an example of the cheaply made furniture that gets imported into Australia that we mugs here pay mega dollars for from the major furniture outlets..

you could easy take out all of the wood from the first piece with the machine istead of cutting it all out lol , looks like a lot of work for a tittle job , work smart not hard :)

I just witnessed something I never ever thought I would see aProfessional wood turner do When you drew that board back across that turning blade on that planer. A very dangerous thing to do and you should know better than that. Im 79 years old and was taught not to do that in shop class way back in the 6th grade

Ratio between effort expended and quality of result doesn’t compute here, IMHO, and the brad nailed joints are destined for premature failure.

I personally love chisel work but isn't there a better way in this case? Pretty tight turn for a wide blade!
