    Great video as always, I certainly couldn't do better or close to. Just FYI for anyone who wants to just re-grease or replace dry/worn rollers you can do on the sled with no special tools in maybe 20 min. If have the tools great, then can clean the whole unit up but that's a hour for me anyways (+-20min of cursing at either the clutch refusing to come off the crank and/or the sheaves failing to separate once again!). I seem to be re-greasing every 1000-1500 miles or hard use. If you can buy a greaser unit, seem to get longer between services. Oh and make sure to brake clean those other vespel rollers and shaft if have apart as they like to stick and should be just barely loose and spin. Might have to rock the clutch a little but they should all not be under pressure.

    Thx for postin that great n helpful video. Been thinkin about havin a go at mine ('20 bc xrs w/ 2500miles) will be my first time. Do the weights require any maintenance? Disassemble & clean pivot maybe?? Also maybe it would be nice to make another video for the secondary pulley. Anyways thx again!

    The weights don’t require maintenance as long as the rollers are in good shape. A broken or worn roller can damage the weight . I do have a video on the secondary clutch roller replacement. Check the video called… QRS roller replacement (revised)

    What do you use for cleaning it once apart? Just soap and water? Rim cleaner?

  • @mountainsleddergarage8627

    You want use something that will leave no residue or oils. Some people blow it out real good with compressed air. Brake cleaner is pretty good because it doesn’t leave any residue (you want very clean, dry brakes) and dries fast. You have to use a lot so it runs off and takes all the belt dust/debris/dirt with it.

    Is there any information on the back torque rollers?

  • @mountainsleddergarage8627

    @mountainsleddergarage8627

    Don’t see near as many problems with the back torque rollers, at least on the mountain sleds. Probably because we don’t put on very many miles per year as flat land sleds.

    What happens when those rollers ceases up?

  • @mountainsleddergarage8627

    @mountainsleddergarage8627

    Жыл бұрын

    When the bearings in the roller run dry and seize up, creates a lot of heat, wears out the ramp (weight) and sled shifts very poorly.
