Great Job. This is a well ordered and approachable depiction of Roman Catholic teaching on the Sacraments.

Thank you 😊 This gives me a new way of reviewing the sacraments with my older students. I'm going to show this to my fellow CCD teachers.

I don't know about the kiss/love analogy though, isn't our "love" visible by pheromones and brain signals? Given enough time might we be able to tell by sight that love exists unlike God?

So then they are allegory describing the invisible reality that pertains to enlightenment, or illumination, or in Christ, salvation. 7 rhymes with heaven for a reason. When they say you go to heaven after you die its taking about resurrection of the spirit. It says on the Holy Mountain of St. Paul: If you die before you die you won't die when you die. The name Christ comes from Greek Kristos. Meaning anointed one. The priests would use holy oil or ointment to anoint but this is still all symbolic pertaining to illumination which is oneness with God.

Everything is a sacrament? Then how can we make a distinction between the church and reality or good and evil

  • @cp2077enjoyer

neuron neuron the church is a lie. God killed trillions with a flood and justifies it by saying "Well they were bad, and well it's God he can do what he wants" Not only that it tries to disprove evolution which is proven. We have skeletons of our evolution and there is evidence by age and form.

@@cp2077enjoyer The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. God must punish the wicked. If you've ever deliberately and freely chosen to break one of God's law than by God's infinite wisdom and justice you righteously deserve the penalty as a representative of God and by not upholding the covenant. Christ came to do your job for you and form a new covenant between God and man. And to establish a kingdom on earth for humanity. I don't know how to make sense of evolution but the church accepts evolution.

@@neuronneuron3645 Evolution certainly makes more sense than the idea of Adam and Eve. Man what do you think the church would have to say about their grandchild's 3rd eye? A gift from god? Evolutiom mskes sense because over millions of years everything grows and adapts like us slowly getting larger.. evolution IS proven given the fact there are found skeletal structures of intelligent beings with basic things that no longer exist. Why do they no longer exist? Well they do, just look around buddy.

@@cp2077enjoyer Evolution is not proven. Evolution is a theory that has become a religion to its adherents. The Church does not accept evolution as a fact, but only accepts that evolution is a theory and that we are permitted to believe in evolution as long as we do not deny that God is the cause of all that exists. I personally believe that evolution is a bunch of unproven bunk, as do most people. You believe that matter came into existence from the absence of matter? Really? How did that happen? And then you say it makes no sense to believe in God that created all matter. Really!

Jesus says that we must be born again by water and spirit to be saved, he says that what God joins together let no man separate, he gives authority to the apostles to forgive sins and teach (which we see Paul giving to others, showing us that it can be shared and passed on), Jesus tells us to be watchful for our individual ends can come like a thief in the night and to worry about our souls over our lives, and most importantly in John 6, the last supper in every gospel, the road to Emmaus, Jesus makes it clear that in the bread he is truly and fully present. That it is his flesh indeed.

Is it possible my friend, for you to find just one single example in the Biblical New Covenant Church, of a person receiving the Saving Grace of God by "faith alone" and without a Catholic Sacrament? My point is this, that you find it easy to believe in being saved by faith alone which is not in the Bible, but you do not believe in Sacramental Salvation which is in the Bible. You falsely accuse the Church of teaching something that you are in fact guilty of. Sacraments are necessary for Salvation.
