I've been since 2000,about ten times, going again next year.

When I was a kid after the boating lake there was a paddling area what Went around with a fountain in the middle. I'm 76 years old now and I don't know if it's still thereas there was places where your mother and father would sit and watch you if it rained you would go to your family and have a sandwich and a drink of tea, they was like caves but only shallow with wooden seats.we spent hours up there walking in the water.

Went there as kid Ingoldmells we had a caravan there still love the place I'm 48 now

Skegness is a day trip place..I stayed last year in August and the place closed at six o'clock Arcades open. During the day the town was busy come 5.30. Time the place turned into a Ghost town The River boat wasn't working..part of the seal sanctuary was closed we went expensive for what was there open. We went to Hardys farm £10 Per Person no child price..not much to see play area was OK for Children..we went out for days a few times public transport Rail or bus... Taxis Very Expensive..

The thing is I've been going to Skegness for over 50 years now and even though I have a little moan am booked in my hotel room is booked going August..love the prize bingo...Days out.. if you've Never been the Village museum is a must very interesting place..

I can never understand that statement 'After dark' surely if its after dark, it must be daylight ? lol Anyhow, another great informative tour of Skegness at night, it looks safe enough for a family, unlike Blackpool and its drunks. I noticed on the pier that the benches face outwards, on most piers they face inwards

As always great video Tim, Skegness used to have a celebrity to switch the illuminations on and used to have large stage near where the RNLI boat station is and it used to be packed with people all the way down the road towards the clock tower. Before the celebrity switched the light on there was different bands on the stage to entertain the audience, Then to finish off with a large fireworks display Unfortunately due to cut backs a few years ago the council scrapped it which is a massive shame as it used to be a brilliant night. I don't know if they still do but down where the Hildred shopping centre is they usually have a Father Christmas parade with Santa on a sleigh pulled by raindeers and Santa turns the Christmas lights on. As for the statue it's called the Jolly fisherman not jolly John lol.

At Christmas they still do the Christmas lights in the hildreds but they are no where near as good as they used to be. This year (or last year whichever why you look at it) they basically put most of the snowmen and decorations up near home bargains and then the rest was pretty bare. Santa and the raindeers was still at the front. Our Christmas lights around town this year were dreadful and as for the tree even worse. It’s got worse since the town council has had more control over it I wouldn’t trust them to run a bath yet alone organise them Christmas lights. Normally Joseph Begley off lincs FM switches the Christmas lights on but hasn’t done for a couple of years due to covid.

I Went skeggy for the scooter rally didn’t remember after dark to much I blame the drink , it looks crazy the difference

Great video and drone footage, shame about the rain Tim. I was in Skeggy 2 weeks ago and stayed in that premier inn. Weather was much better when I was there and I went to all those places you showed in the video!! Didnt fancy a night time skinny dip then??😂😂

Your Great Yarmouth, Bournemouth (not long back) and Cromer ones we're superb, I would reccomend you do the North of Scotland and the Solway Coast, I live in Dumfriesshire, those places are a trek due to no train system.

Haven't been to Skegness for a five years now. Lots of changes and for the better. Looks great at night. Shame everyone shut up at 9pm in August. How do these business expect people to come back next year if this is their first UK seaside holiday due to the C word? Not a good look to get repeat business or encourage new ones come to that.

@@WalkWithMeTim I understand that but if I was there to enjoy myself I'd be a bit peeved. It is a balance but it is easy to lose customers by being quick to shut up on a night in peak season. You might get some staying but if you shut up, you'll never know.

We are all told to turn the lights off save the plant the council even turn the street lights off at 1am to save electric 😲🙄🤔🤑 it's funny if it makes money then the more light the better but if it cost money 💰💰💰💰💰💰😉😉

You have made it very good. Sadly the illuminations such that they are are a pale shadow of their former selves ( current ones are secondhand as as you said ex xmas) and the lighting on the whalebone columns is possibly the worst public lighting project lighting creation of the last ten years. Underspecified and very dull in real life though you made them look ok. The video was great though and you made the town look great. Thank you. 🙂
