Skating On The Lake In Toronto -I WAS DUPED!

Спорт

A crazy ice skating adventure around The Toronto Islands at 16 below zero. Narrated by skater Bill Stoppard, right from the Toronto Island ferry, to skating the lakes, rinks, and rivers of the Islands. Is this the roughest 'skateable' ice there is on KZread? Can you trust what you see on Instagram? Is getting what you need, better than getting what you want?

I should be working but ... this is so fascinating, I miss Toronto, Canada. This will be a great travel advertisement, Toronto looks so so beautiful, with blues skies and the white ice and you in black. Honestly send it to the people, you know, this is a beautiful advert for Canada, I so wished I returned, my soul belongs there.

How did you get into skating, yes you mentioned you played ice hockey, what you do is just so amazing. I love that you have skates on your beautiful shelves instead of silly shoes. Just find you so inspiring to watch, so calm, and enjoying life. Lie a virtual reality .......

Totally amazing, instead of going to Fernie, I am going to visit Toronto and the amazing Pro Skating shop to buy my skates. I would love to meet you and say hello, Not sure how I missed you in London, I am from London and skated on Friday. What a beautiful place, sun always comes out in Canada, super cold but crisp.

I like this for you, the different textures and paths like on the tar you skate, more challenging. Most ice skaters I know wouldn’t go for it. Don’t get me wrong I love me a nice seductive mirror lake to skate on, but this is cool. Challenging 💪🏻 hell of a workout!

Wow! That looked Awesome, Bill! Great how you can switch between disciplines depending on the season. I find it amazing how you guys have boats that will literally smash their way through frozen lakes for fun! When we get the slightest hint of snow or ice chaos ensues! Businesses close down, public transport grounds to a halt, the world as we know it ceases to exist! 🙈 Apologies for the pessimism. The lack of skating due to the current climate here is having an effect in me. Happy skating, Dude! ☀️😁

That's some mediocre ice! Still, super jealous. No Elfstedentocht this year. Luckily the fake ice is only a few kilometers away here.

It's way hard for the average skater to skate on rough ice. You should have said "I'm Bill Stoppard, the skating juggernaut". BTW. That's not a duck, they've all gone to warmer pastures. That bird, probably a cormorant is taking advantage of the icebreaking ship to catch prey. I hope it dived deep enough to safety.

Cool! 😃👍 How often do you have skatable ice in your area? Here in Berlin, Germany it's nowadays and with climate change maybe just 1 out of 10 winters. When I was a kid it was almost every winter. I was with skates on a lake outside of Berlin in Feb. 2021 - the 1st time after approx. 35 years. This year is NOTHING here. 😳
