SkateHoarders with Dave Skoot, Side B: The Other Brands, Sneakers, Photos, Tchotchkes

Спорт

We filmed over three hours of footage with this storied Staten Island board collector. The initial episode was cut down to one hour, but here's an additional 30-minute cut of more boards and memorabilia that wasn't in the original episode.

Sick collection. There should be a skateboarding hall of fame, museum and skatepark. It's been long enough. You could build some of the iconic ramps and spots in one place. Wanna drop in on the Animal Chin ramp? Pad up. Wanna huck yourself down the Wilshire or Hollywood set? Just send it. Schools should have skate teams and parks on campus. Colleges should have skateboarding scholarships. If you can get a scholarship for bowling, playing golf or just running, you should be able to get a scholarship for skateboarding.

I mean there is a hall of fame with a museum and some ramps. In Simi Valley.

When you want to do it, I’m in. @ other guy, that place doesn’t even come close to doing the culture justice, with all due respect to the guy who built it. It’d have to be a huge undertaking, not one guy.

@@soundofile7003 That's not a proper museum. That's more like major fan appreciation with some history wedgied in. I'm talking about a place with the same respect to the sport just like baseball and others or the rock n roll hall of fame. Like Macba, but with skate history inside and replica ramps and spots you can skate on. Skatopia.

@@deadbeat-vc9kg Meh I'd rather the niche places like the simi spot cos it's real skateboarders that know these eras piecing together historical documentation that a museum with board members and management could never do. A skate museum would look like "this week at the nike sb skate museum facility we are inducting two old nike guys and a bunch of young influencers cos technically they are skateboarders.

@@WHDRWN You just make it so only skaters can hold board seats. No big deal. I like seeing more people skating. It creates unity through a common passion just like music. The more people skate, the more conscious and caring the world becomes.
