I remember being like 13 going to the skatepark and hanging out the older skaters they all smoked weed drank listened to music did crazy tricks and edits had fights it was fucking amazing, I thought I was so cool until they all finished school and never saw them again then realised I was the older kids now and I was chilling and drinking and doing crazy tricks and making edits. Miss those days man

How can you even say that? Fucking idiot. I can think of better things that could be a symbol of freedom. What part of skateboarding is freedom? You are only allowed to skate in a park and is illegal to skate on the streets incase you damage public property, then when someone tries to move you, you play the victim when you're the one in the wrong

i lived in Bristol whilst at uni, and that place is just the best for street skating, like you can just walk randomly around and you'll come across spots you recognise from videos and magazines, rails, stairs, ledges, banks the lot. coming from a small town with maybe 10 skaters in total, the first time i went to big Lloyds one evening just blew my mind. so many skaters, and the average level of tricks was so much higher than i'd ever seen before.

Don't say that, this is an articulate, interesting man,
I skated south bank, shell and the Yellow bricks in the 90’s as a small yout. Huge part of my life at the time and loving memories still now. We used to go down watch Winston, Alex and Curtis amongst others killing it, huge and technical tricks, real inspirations to me and my crew. I get the unpopular thing, when your school mates would they see you on your board dressed in baggy ankle swingers, never got street cred for that but I didn’t give a shite. In the end one by one everyone stopped skating and I was the only one left, used to still hit the bank on my own but wasn’t quite the same buzz. It’s funny how skateboarding is seen as so cool now, I always see skaters everywhere all over london, great to see the movements going strong. I visited south bank just before lockdown with my young daughter, she loved it, still have my board and still take it out now and then outside the house to pop a few easy tricks. Promised her I would take her back down there to show her Dads still cool, even at 45. So if you see an 8yo girl with a hipster nursing a serious head injury, that will be me 😁
Used to love skateboarding. Getting back into it again, but too many kids in the UK like scooters. I'd look like a tart skating with them.

Wow what a great scene... almost reminiscent of my skateboarding love story with Love Park in Philadelphia in the 90s and early 2000’s
Skateboarder symbolize openess toward world. When I see fellow skateboarders on a street, I roll by and say: "Hello there friends!", and they usually have the most warm responses. Feels like we know each other for so long and I continue my way with a smile. peace ✌🏼

I literally ate 411 foir breakfast, lunch, and supper...everyday from age 11.....I'm now 30 and I feel privileged to be able to watch any skate video for free now on youtube....back then I would spend my pocket money on 411 videos and get super amped up watching the whole thing before sessions.
I'd love if someone counted how many "You know" have been said in this video.
I used to skate southbank and harrow in the late 80s great memories! my fave place was the secret pool in Neasdon
brings back great memories i remember skating south bank on my reaction board :)
He said for young people what about us older Skateboarders I'm a 46 year old Street Skateboarder Skateboarding is for all ages if your just starting Skateboarding or getting back into it age doesn't matter it's all about having fun!!!! :-) The latest update on Southbank hasn't it been saved it's not going to be knocked down?!!!! :-)

It's because young people often get moaned at for not doing anything yet when they do something (like skating) it's always shut down or made illegal. I should know being 16.
I wish I could skate but I'm shit at it. And because I'm shit at it I never go to the skate park to get better because I have anxiety and I'm scared people will judge me and shit.

I don't know what kind of skaters you have over there, but the skating community is NOT judgemental. If they're proper skaters, they'll encourage beginners and even help them out. They've all been there before, so skaters who love skateboarding and respect anyone who tries are the skating community. Not those guys who skate for others, or those who just want to show off
ive lived in London for many years and almost everywhere they went i recognized.
Kids are so lucky now. I remember in the '90s in Britain we had to travel miles to a skate park and we lived in a major city 'Leeds ' the closest was a door park at Wakefield called ' rehab' about 10 miles away and it cost. Now in England, there are 1000's outdoor/outdoor free parks which we never had as kids. All we did was skate and had to build ramps if we wanted to learn transitions.
