This tutorial was 100000% better than the ride tutorial. I just learned this today hopefully these tips will help me get it consistent. Thanks!!
the 50-50 roll up helped a ton. I've always tried doing it at a huge angle and would never slide, always stick, occasionally land but never able to pop it back to regular. Thanks for the trick tip.
I was practicing back five os the other day when I did one of these entirely by accident. I really want to get these, and your tutorials are super helpful. I got back into skating 2 years ago after having quit for more than 10. I'm especially trying to expand my bag of grinds and slides, because when I was young, we just didn't have any skateparks. I seriously had to take an hour train ride to get to the nearest ledge spot. In fact, where I live there's still a dearth of hassle-free spots, but I've taken things into my own hands and waxed up a very chunky curb under a bridge. There's always broken glass to clean and the occasional needle, but I guess the fact that it's sketchy means your average citizen hero doesn't try to shut you down immediately. Obviously, I'd kill for a clean ledge spot like that in the video, but whatever. Thanks bro.
Just the best looking trick IMO! You have em good too. You really have the best trick tutorials on KZread (that I've seen). Awesome brother!
I remember watching this video a few months ago and I couldn't even back 50 yet, thinking I could learn this trick... watching yourself progress is fun haha
What if I can get on the slide every time but I cant keep it going for a long time? Like I can only do short ones then I seem to get pushed off. I want to be able to do big long slides across the whole box
any tip on how to keep my shoulders straight? i always overturn and lose control ! thnx
can you do a tips for back 5050s like i can lock in straight on calm but hopping backwards from being parallel is a different story

A lawn mower I learned this in a week or so and have it better than back 50s just set up like an Ollie (slant front foot if it helps) and focus on popping your tail first and then releasing your wind up you should be able to get in every time the hard parts sliding

I don't know if you'll see this but I was wondering how you keep your board connected to your back foot the whole time. when I do em I can't keep my board connected and staying on my back foot. I can send you a video of me doing one and you'll see what if you helped it would be greatly appreciated.

The harder you kick your front foot forward, the harder the tail will go up,( as with an Ollie)and the harder the tail goes up, the more it will stick to your back foot, letting you scoop it more efficiently.
My problem isn't getting into it it's more of slipping out or if I don't slip I stick. Tips please? Thanks

if you're sticking then you're coming into it at too much of an angle or the ledge isnt waxed enough. slipping out means you got the lock in but now it's just a balance issue. lean a little back and stay heavy on the back foot while making sure your shoulders are still turned so that youre slightly facing the direction you're sliding unless you plan on coming out fakie.
are you in CO
@ 0:18 Why not do the whole ledge?
How do you call it when you do this trick but you’re jumping over the rail from the other side then la d your tail on the rail ??

I should make a trick tip on bs tailslides. It took me eight years to learn them (yes I suck) and I went through every imaginable mistake you can possibly think of before finally nailing my first ones just a few weeks ago, so I'd be able to cover pretty much every way to screw it up.The most absurd fucking thing was a phase I went through where my back foot would be slightly ahead of the board so when I went to stomp my foot down, it would make the board do a backfoot lateflip. Actually probably shouldn't make a trick tip though because they're still sketchy and I can only really do them on really low shit like half a foot off the ground otherwise I just clip the ledge. Wish I were good enough that I could say they are easy, I think it's the hardest grind or slide there is.

I used to do that exact same late back foot flip thing for ages too. It sounds like you might be trying to do the bs 180 using only your legs. Also, trying to look over your shoulder at the ledge the whole time can really prevent your body from doing the bs 180 rotation. Try just doing a normal basic Ollie except use your shoulders, neck and eyes to shift your upper body in a bs direction then your lower body should follow. The board should stay under your feet just as if you were doing a bs 180 on flat. The unfortunate thing is that you can't see where you're going for a split second but you'll get used to it.
