    So how'd it go? Honestly I'm wondering if he even reads the comments before liking them... It's the back foor that does the work on a front side revert. It's the only way it can work. You lighten up the rear and slide it to the front, ending up in fakie... Even in a backside revert you still slide out the back into a 180 towards the front... ending up in fakie...🤷🏻‍♂️

Only other tip I can give you for reverts is try them on asphalt, like a street or decent parking lot. Hard wheels 97a and up tend to slide better on that than sidewalk concrete.

I’m still not fully recovered but I’m starting to go back to my normal life a bit more. Thanks for the tips! I managed to do one the other day. You’re right, the back foot definitely has to push forward for the board to revert, but the front has to push down as well. I find it easier to do it when riding switch, so revert from switch to normal. I’m also practicing to ride switch. It’s so frustrating cus I gotta think about things that came naturally when riding normally haha

    @@fvnt0miix953 learning switch is always a good thing. I learned mostly on a low longboard as far as pushing and just having control. Yes the front foot lightens up the rear to allow you to slide the back out. I was the opposite, my reverts standard was great but my switch revert was iffy as heck... eventually they evened out. I'm trying to move on to power slides. Not the longboard type just the little quick ones skaters do to shave off speed. They...are... terrifying...lol

    Question from a newbie. Whats the difference between a FS 180 and a revert?

  • @RegularJason

    @RegularJason

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hey! A FS 180 involves a pop (i.e. your board will rotate in the air during the trick, since you hit the tail on the ground). A revert does not involve a pop; your board never leaves the ground, and your wheels slide on the ground during the trick. In this video, I explained a frontside revert (since my board rotated frontside). At 0:51, I threw in a FS 180 for fun, then did a revert.

    Yeah, this is definitely easier with hard wheels, which will slide easier. If you have really soft wheels (e.g. filmer or cruiser wheels), you can consider pivoting instead of reverting; the concepts about shoulder rotations still apply, but press on your nose a little more, to get your back wheels off the ground. One alternative is to put more weight onto your front wheels, to lift the back wheels off the ground (so that you pivot instead of doing a revert). The info about rotating your arms/shoulders should still be relevant for pivoting on two wheels though!
