BigDWiz one day can you make a video for dummies explaining everything like how the voltage affects your car and how many batteries you may need, and how what clipping means and what the THD, and clipping and dynamic means and what like each part of the test means and how it effects the system, can you explain that? I watch like every one of your videos and I'm subscribe but I don't understand majority of them but or what you are talking about and what it means and I tried researching it you know to Google and everything, but it you would explain it, it would make it a lot easier.

Skar did good is a good amp puts Crescendo and DC to shame with their same bored and different prices because of a name brand but the best amp out of the 5 was the Orion 4824 Watts at one ohm 1% THD the skar did not hit that number in dynamic Orion did 5800 dynamic

@@louiemares1610 not true. The skars are inefficient. My friend dc 3.5k held over 3.5k rms with impedance rise clamped on my system. My skar dropped from 3k to about 2.3k. That is the price difference. None the less i still love my skar amps. But going to to to a wolfram next. I heard they arent inefficient. You want a real efficient amp the fosgate bdcp line is a beast. From .75 ohms to 2.5 ohms they will play over their one ohm rated. You have to remember dynos are static impedance. It doesnt account for impedance rise that you get with a sub or subs in a box. The higher end amps tend to not be effected at all by impedance rise. They are built and rated to hit above there rated with rise. While cheaper amps they see rise and can drop sometimes 500w-1000w. Most people say the same thing you say but dyno results should be taken with a grain of salt. Since your subs wired at 1 ohm will never be a stable 1 ohm. they could be rising to 2.5-3 ohms and those amps you claim are just over priced name brand will still play rated with that rise because the caps and transformers are built to store enough to keep the power up over rated. Why they are like twice the size of their cheaper counter part. So your statement is lacking information that is actually more important than just a dyno test.

@@louiemares1610 i watch these cause i like seeing amps pushed to the limit. But its why a amp will go into protect like in this video at .8 ohms. But you will have some guy running .5 or .75 ohms and never have a issue because of impedance rise. The subs move and the amp may see 1.2-2 ohms

What makes your channel really great, is that the quality of the video. The delivery of the information that is clean and clear English, unlike many others who mumble "bla bla bla" What? They are all over the place and moving the camera to give the watcher a headache. Good choice on the home speaker you choose. Keep up the nice work. ORION is the BEST - Had HCCA225 in the 90's - amazing!!! And you are NO Dummy!!!

Another great video. That's why I switched to skar. Great power at a great price. I have their more budget friendly models. I still think the Orion is going to put out the most.

Those coils being placed where they are make the amp more efficient it is set up like a CB linear. Nice job Skar.

Nice. Skar is doing better than most expected I believe! That board layout seems to work very well. I've noticed it on a few amps. Orion xtr series does a layout like that as well.

Josh Hanson don't get me wrong I absolutely love everything about my 2500.1dz an still to this day.....with all the legit brands putting out around the same power...... they all have areas they shine in an others they don't do so well an I also am a fan of orion way back when I was growing up!! But today u really can't say that about ANY brand including sundown lol its alllll about personal preference an what u want for "your car"!

Hong Bitter skar amps are very nice terrible subs and speakers though but if you pair skar amps with American bass subs n speakers its a sweet marriage American bass electronics suck lol almost a bizzaro skar

They may be saving money with the 85c caps for now, to get the name out but wouldn't be surprised if they changed that later on. That is good power for the money, and under rated which is a plus.

Skar speakers and amps are very underrated.. Running 2 vd 10" 500watts rms feeding them 750rms on the daily. 1200.1 that Steve Meade dyno actually puts out around 1700rms! Good powerful stuff for your $$

I bought an RP800.1 and an RP 75.4, along with two SDR-10's and ALL the above exceed my expectations. These replaced JL 500/1 and 300/2 amps, so they had big shoes to fill.

Love the channel but can I make a suggestion can you show us the settings on the amp when you put it on the dyno just out of curiosity can't wait for the next video might have to get a t-shirt

Thanks Josh. Each amp is gain matched to my 4 volt Alpine head unit. Low-Pass crossovers are set as high as possible, subsonic set on lowest setting. Bass boost turned all the way down as well. Your settings may be different depending on your head unit and other components

That awesome big d. Love the videos and I own that identical amp skv2 3500.1d and I love it. I run it at 0.5 ohms in my daily driver at 14.4 volts all day everyday not protection once and with box rise I guess I see 0.8 so maybe it was a voltage thing..... But REGARDLESS SKAR FTW!!!! AND this is the first test I've ever seen of my amp thank you and rock on old school stereo

Thanks for the video.. Planning on buying one of these.. Quick question for you,, as much as I hear that the gain is not a volume,, is it possible to power down at 1ohm to achieve maybe 3000 watts to match a set of speakers.. I've always been SMD set for no distortion,, instead of powering down.. I understand that 3500watts is 1750 to a set of speakers.. The speakers are say 3000 rms a pair Thanks for any input you have...

josh wonk I can't give u advice on how long to do something we technically shouldn't be doin there too much to consider from build to build how long something will go getting abused sorry.....I will say If we're u I would find out exactly y urs is goin into protect an either try to avoid doing it or upgrade electrical or amp or both or maybe jus a bad ground low voltage etc but jus try not to do it bc u never know if it will be it's last time to catch the problem before it smokes jus a fyi

But as a skar owner and all my vehicle have skar in them. Dc and crescendo, sundown and fosgates dont get mixed with impredence rise in my experiences. We clamped a friends dc 3.5k to my subs, it played over 3.5k with impedance rise. My skar dropped 800w when it got into impedance rise. My skar rp 800 drops 350w with rise, compared to a sundown 1k stayed above rated. That is what you are paying for. Like the 2500 bdcp will play above 2500 between 1ohm and 2.5ohms. Where as my cheaper skars just fall on there face it goes from a 800w amp to almost a 400w amp at full tilt so it turns it into a overpriced 400w amp. Oh yeah my 12 only rises from 1 ohm to 1.6 ohms my voltage is steady and 14.2v. That is what you pay for and why those higher end amps are so big and dont put out much power. Have to take that into account. As someone who likes skar if i ever have the money to swap them all over the skars will sit on my shelves as back ups just to have. Im looking at wolframs now see how well they do on power clamped playing music. I may be ordering the 3k here soon.

Love the sub bass test at 08:00 using the Skar amp, crisp and no distortion at all.

Nawl yo electrical ain't together lol I have this exact amp and I'm running 0 Gauge running all the way through...a 220 High Output Alt and a D3400R Xs Power in the back and I bang it everyday and I haven't had any light dimming or amp issues it barely gets warm after hours of play time

Could you possibly do a dyno on the skar audio skv2 1500d

So how do you strap it to 2ohms? Do you run a D2 sub to 1 ohm on each amp then strap it? Newer to strapping.

How do I contact you about testing an amp? I can pay shipping! I run across amps all the time from a friend of mine who works at an auction business. Have an old Demon Series II Power Acoustik monoblock and a couple old Kenwood a/b's that I can't find any dyno vids for. I paid $25 for the 4000 watt "max" amp. Fuses tell me it is probably around a 1800ish watt amp tops. Just can't find anyone to dyno it. Just jumping back into car audio again and love seeing the analytical aspect I never got see when I was younger.

FYI viewers: The bass knob w/ clip LED ($25) works with Skar's RP line of amps so feel free to save a couple hundred by purchasing a RP3500.1 and the 'bass knob w/ clip LED' separately.

I had one of these turds installed in my car for around 4 years with zero issues the entire time. It was running 2 12s at 1ohm in a box tuned to 30hz. I wouldn’t write home about it, but on a budget it scratched the itch for me lmfao

So I'm old school. Stuck on a fosgate bd 1000 from 2000. And 2 boston g5 subs 12's. So I bought the soft cone replacements and now i have to wire them 1 ohm. The fosgate plays them but it gets hot here in Texas. So how do these new amps stack up. I know they are pumping crazy watts. But do they sound good. If so what amps are good for sq and some decent spl. Scared to spend money on brands I dont know.

Yeah I clamped my 1st gen sk3500.1 at 2.3ohm 13.8v it did 2,834w rms but now I have two of them strapped together on 4 Sundown SA15'S but for a while there I ran a single amp at half ohm and it never went into protect and it definitely had gobs of raw power wired into the dirt like that lol still running it today so clearly it didn't hurt anything... But I will be switching everything out this spring as I now have 4 X15D2'S and two soundqubed q-4500.1's I plan to run 1 amp to each 2 subs at half ohm for max power, byebye windshield haha

Make sure you have the electrical and this amp should have enough power for 3 15’s unless they are super beefy and inefficient

Williston Audio Labs do the Korean SKV Skar amps get hot like the Chinese RP Skar amps are notorious for doing? Real curious as I really like Skars subs but the RP2000.1D amplifier that I had would get real hot after 20 mins of playing some mid to heavy bass. I had sufficient electrical... Amp just seemed too sensitive. Was unhappy with amp from day 1. I welcome anyone else's input whose had experience with both the Skar RP series aswell as the SKV series. Thanks in advance everyone!

my whole build is skar. minus bass amp it's a sundown. but for the price of skar I'd say I made out. pretty damn loud. master will knows what's up.

Oh lol rip. I'm not going to judge your decision but in all of the test videos the sundown amps show to be lacking with the Dyno compared to pretty much every amp shown in this video. Sundown amps are overpriced I would highly recommend skar skv2 series because the board is from korea

Where did you set the subsonic and bass boost

Either way you cut it it does rated* power even though it was just shy of the 3800. It’s well within component tolerances whether they are 5% or 10%. I’d say it’s worth it considering the fact that there are a lot of amps out there rated 2k for that price.
