I have two of the ix-12 series 12" subs on the rp1000.1D they handle it just fine there subs are so conservatively rated and I bought there amp wiring kit witch was plenty of wire and 4 skar audio 6x8's and to of there super tweeters mids and highs powered with a power acoustic 2,500 watt amp tuned to around 400 watts and the subs on the skar rp1000.1D man it freaking hits hard everyone I have gave a demo thanks I spent thousands on it all together it was $657.96

I love the skar product I have a skar RP 4500w rms amp on 4 skar zvx 12s in a 4th order wall build in a 94 Toyota Camry and all skar mids and tweeters and I am impressed with skar

I love how so many of these amps have a scratch right though the logos. SO many of us drop the knife too far down when boxing lol

I've put mine into protect a few time low voltage 3 time speaker wire touching twice comes out of protect no probs but Hart still skips a beat every time

Not hard to install. Connect the rca wires together and get ready to BOOM. I have 1 12" @ 1 ohm EVL on a super bass box and being powered by the SKAR AUDIO SKv2 1500.1D @ 1 ohm. The whole car is SKAR AUDIO. Tweeters, 6x9's, 6.5's soundbox 0 gauge wires. Later on a 12" ZVX on a RP2000.1d is being is next. The box is being built for that project.

Get a custom enclosure made for the three 12s and get a skar rp 3500 or 4500

I know the gain is not a volume knob if my pioneer head unit is 2v where is the 2v gain set to is it ailtte over half? 3/4?? Please help

You need a distortion detector of some sort. Take it to your nearest audio shop

I have the same amp and it gets warm but not hot. Running it @1 ohm and I run full tilt all the time no problems. Just dont mount to sub enclosure or skar wont warranty it.

*Take the time to MOUNT everything if you got a nice set up* I made wooden molds of my base in the trunk. (the floor) Then I made some thick wood that is also light, but strong. All of My things including amp, and speakers Have frames built around them holding them to the board. They are so strong and reinforced with epoxy. Basically, if someone manages to get into my trunk, they actually won't be able to take anything. How to you beat a theif? Simply make it too hard to take. And for the car? go to your dealership, have them install a remove cut off switch. As soon as the car starts, press the button and shut it off :)

I got a set of dual 12 evls for free. Super excited. I really like loud bass. Hope my electrical should be fine with the rp2000.1d. It's not an insane amp and purposely got one with less wattage so I don't need all that extra stuff. All 0 gauge ofc wiring and the big 3 to help my alternator. Can't wait for the install day.

2nd battery maybe needed depending on power requirements of your 4 channel amp. Measure voltage at the amplifiers inputs with volume set to loudest you will use and check for voltage drop. Too much voltage drop can kill your amp (some amps are more sensitive to voltage drop than others)

@@Kpaceguy awesome I cant wait to get it installed, I just have to swap out my stinger 4 gauge power and ground out for some 1/o ofc and I will be ready to go. I'm also going to be putting in a dsp.

To get it out from protect mode you must disconnect all wires power ground rca’s and remotes wait a few minutes then reconnect.

I would love to get the broke ones to rebuild them .

I heard they overheat if u mount them on the box or any flat surface because of vents being on the bottom.

Put some rubber spacers between where your amp is mounted and your amp. Problem solved. Or if you are that worried about it wire it to 2 ohms instead of 1. I've not had any problems with mine tho.

Meanwhile I'm getting ready to return my skar evl 12s cus they're too heavy for my 2012 honda accord. Got the evl 15 in my backseat.

Ok I hooked this amp up yesterday to my SA 12 V2 sub and tuned it using the SMD DD1 and set the crossover using the SMD CC1 and set the Subsonic to 24 HZ because my box is tuned to 32 HZ. Don’t get me wrong the amp puts out its rated power and some but I did notice a little lack in the sound quality. I had my other amp hooked up first and it sounded very clean with rated power for my subwoofer on the dot. Sundown subs are underrated you can get way more performance out of them that is why I got this amp. I did notice it made my sub hit very hard because my rear view mirror immediately went down to the down position when the bass hit hard and parts of my car was vibrating that were not vibrating before. I hooked my other amp up today and noticed the night and day difference on the sound quality. And the one thing I did notice with my other amp was when I was playing it with just the sub without my mids and highs the bass was very clean with no unwanted frequencies. With the RP 2000.1 doing the same thing I can hear a slight frequency of the instrumentals or higher frequency slipping through. And I did not hear that on my other amp and I used the SMD DD1 and the CC1 to set everything and the subsonic set correctly because I don’t want to damage my sub. I think the main flaw in this amp is the crossovers that is affecting the sound quality but it hits pretty dam hard I must say just make sure you set your subsonic correctly; you don’t want to damage your sub. I am going to test it out for about a week and hook up a DSP and see if I can tailor the sound a little bit better. My other amp puts out half the power but cost about $70 more. So I guess you get what you pay for. For the power it puts out it is well worth the money, I am going to see if I can improve the sound with a DSP. If I can get the sound a little better I will keep it.

no, that amplfier isn’t a fan of bad voltage either. i’ve got one and i’ve noticed it doesn’t like below 13 for me. you’d be best of using 1/0 ofc

No it's intended to be at 1 ohm and there's not really a reason why you wouldn't

Wait a minute a diagram that I saw it said that if you were wiring two dual four ohm voice coils to the amp then you wanted to Hook the speaker wire to the middle terminals. Maybe I have my system set up wrong can anyone confirm how you're supposed to wire up the subs to the amp?. I wired up two EVL 12 dual voice coil 4 ohm in the box for one ohm operation. I got a plus and minus speaker wire coming out of the box going into the amp. Which terminals do I use? Hopefully I haven't caused any damage to the speakers

If you're wiring 2 dual 4 ohm subs to 1 ohm amp you Need to go positive to positive and negative and negative on both subs then tether a positive and one negative going to one positive and one negative of the other sub.

@@Kpaceguy no what I'm saying is how do you hook the subs up to the amp I have everything wired up in the box down to one ohm and it comes out of one set of terminals on the side of the box and a positive and negative speaker wire goes from that and then into the amp. I read somewhere that you're supposed to use the middle terminal on the amp the plus and minus in the middle of the amplifier. Now am I supposed to be going by What you showed in the video?. If so, am I running my subs at the wrong power the wrong ohms. Or does it not matter on the amp end? Should I rehook up my box to the amp based on how you did it will it make a difference Or is using the middle terminals fine My box only has one set of terminals coming out of one side of it

@jaygee6983 it changes from amp to amp what terminals to use. So you'll need to download your manual if you don't have it. It 100% matters on the amp end what ohms you're running. It doesn't matter how you have things wired going out of the box it matters how you have the subs hooked up together which is what I just described.

@@Kpaceguy I have the RP 2000 skar I just purchased and it looks like what you show in the video. You use different terminals than I used. I wired the subs parallel for a one ohm load. I saw somewhere that they hooked up the plus and the minus in the middle of the amp. Is that right or do I got to use the same terminals you used. I guess I can read the book that came with the amp again but it didn't really show. It shows the wiring going to both terminals. It shows all four speaker terminals being used on the amp It doesn't really explain how you would hook up for parallel mode. The way I wired my box one terminal has leads coming out of it that would go to the amp so I only have two speaker wires, one positive and one negative so I'm kind of just trying to figure out where I hook those up on the amp if maybe I have it wrong

JL Audio to scar not only has the price better but the scar hit harder sound better and put up better Dino numbers or however they measure it underrated they can handle more than they are quoted to evl series absolutely blew my w6s away and performance range price power never buy another high-end set of speakers again when I can get these I promise anybody reading this comment that you cannot go wrong these things freaking lb saying that I would worry about is an alternator for your vehicle LOL because the big boy monobloc ants will eat them

The way to use the bass boost is to turn it up all the way when you set your gains so that switching it on wont send a clip signal

Skar has great customer service. The channel has nothing to do with it. They really do replace any damages. All they ask for is pictures to prove it.
