Those subs can handle a lot more power. I'm running them off a CT Sounds XT3200.1D. Those amps put out 4200+ RMS. Gain is set with an SMD DD-1 that's why the speakers don't blow. Upgrade your alternator, do the big 3 and replace the wiring with OFC if you used what comes in the Skar kit since it's just CCA. I'd move up to 1/0 for amp power and run 2/0 from the battery to a distribution block. This will leave you room to easily upgrade later. The alternator upgrade alone will make it like a new system. And don't forget to sound deaden your trunk, license plate, doors then roof and if you feel like it the floor too. It makes a difference.

@@motulikizfinest5622 I blew my EVL's and replaced em with VXF's. They don't sound as good but they slam Hella hard and can take way more abuse. I'm eyeing B2's subs now. Give it a month orso n ill spend another 1k on subs and more lithium.

@@motulikizfinest5622 nice, it’s a fun adventure I really got back into car audio 3 years ago, I’ve basically put the last couple years on my other channel, started with 2 15’s, DD 600 series, and a 1200 watt, fosgate prime, like 6 set ups later and too much $$$$, I just walled my 3 PSI platform 2 18’s, 75ah cmax, Sundown Sfb 8k, JS 300 alt, DD 6.5’s and tweets, Jones & SPL 6.5’s, Soundqubed 100/4, just been slowly piecing it together, box 📦 tuned to 29Hz, did a 157.3, hopefully will be around a 160.dB when it’s finished 🤞, if you want to check it out I can send the link, also I love watching peeps enjoying car audio, no matter what your bumping...

Also my subs had only been in the car for a little under 2 weeks I hadn't messed with the amp yet or anything because they weren't broken in fully

Walk in with no bass and walks out with whole Lotta bass.

My buddy has those subs and box hooked to a taramps bass 5k. Very nice for the money. Thanks for sharing.

Great buy for what you get with 2 12's at 1250 RMS each in a ported box.

Those can get really loud. I know from experience. I had 2 of those in a 6th order with a Taramps md8k in a 91 Chevy truck.

Hes hooked look at that bass face he had. Next time he will have alt secondary batt and will know all his specs🔈🔉🔊

Yea dropping that back seat will definitely let you feel the bass. I had it like that in my 94 integra

I started with their EVL 12 package and slowly upgraded to their SKv23500.1D and 2x VXF 12s in my Jetta and a Skv235000.1D/ 4x EVL8s in my Celica. Skar is an amazing company and you cannot beat the bang for buck they offer..For the owner of this setup, upgrade to a SKv2 series amp, its much more efficient - so you get more wattage for less current. You will see less voltage drop and the bass is much cleaner.

im not sure if youll reply but im about to do this exact same thing but with their 2500 watt setup, I know itll be a bit underpowered but will it work? otherwise if I get their 3500 watt amp will it run safely stock in the car or will I need another battery? just trying to see what you did with this awesome setup

We all start somewhere, got my 1st setup installed last year. 2 EVL 12s on a 2k amp, moved to 2 vxf 12s on taramp 5k. Now I’m in the process of buying 2 sundown X12s

Nice! I just got. 12” DDX and RP 1500M for my 4runner. First system in about 15 years! Last system was a Hifonics Brutus and 2 infinity reference 12”’s, sealed. This ported DDX smacks way harder and cleaner! Next is upgraded electrical, then wiring, then mids and high amp, then Smart 3k, and add a second DDX D2 so I still get full power at 2 ohms. It’s going to be a long ride but gotta make small progress here and there.

You can tell the lows fade out quick. That electrical is crying lol. I had same amp, and needed a 250 amo alt and 2 xs power agm's just to even satisfy the rp2k at 1 ohm.

@@jeffreycarpenter4618 oh thats your car, huh? If you put 2 runs of 1/0 from front and use dual inputs, the "big 3", and a big agm battery at the least, it'll improve pretty significantly. Those EVL's will take everything the 2k will give, for sure! They're really solid subs. I have a rp2k, and bought a taramps smart 3k to upgrade, and it slams.

I want to get these for my truck. I have a 2013 f150 5.0 do you think I’ll need another alternator or can I just run them like other subs

I have 4 EVL 12's in a Bobby Gately 7.0 box tuned to 32. They get down on a SFB5K. They need more power for sure.

I love my SFB 8k, have it on 3 PSI 18’s walled, now that I’m close to a 60 my doors are starting too fall apart 😂

These are alright, that handle a lot more than rated. The included wiring kit is CCA so I'd toss it if you go that route and get CCA. Box is tuned to 35hz.

Got mine on order we'll see how it all goes inside my 55 VW bug, 😀

I have 2 12s skars sdr on a skar 1200watt 0 gauge with 2 small audio batteries the EVL should be doing more flexing with another battery amp is running at its minimum 2000 watts on stock you just need more voltage skar amps don’t like running under voltage

Taramps 5k some bigger wire runs to the stock alt and about 200 AGM amp hrs be knocking block down they will take it just got clean that thd. up to full tilt be surprised how much under dog subs can do with clean power on them proper break INS you hooked already might well come on in the bass is worm fuzzy lol

I've been addicted since I was a young kid and got into my mom's bf car. Dude was beating!!!! So when I got older I built my first system. 2 12in kicker comp c with a 500w alpine d class mono amp, and a 7in Jenson flip screen.. in a 1999 mazda millenia... bros. I used to set off alarms and shake shiii in houses. My front fenders used to rattle like crazy and no my car wasn't a junky.. just started up again tried the kickers and a 500w rockford fosgate.. it hit. But no where near as hard as my Older system. What's crazy is this time it was in a honda crv. Maybe my batter had a big roll into why it couldn't hit the way it should. It is a tiny battery. But I'm now about to invest into a package deal from skar. See how this l turns out. I know im a tweak it up eventually.

I know it should be wired to 1 ohm if he actually hooked it up in parallel like it's supposed to be

The box and subs come wired to 1 ohm at the terminal. It is a preloaded package.

I have one skar evl 12 and it makes my windshield jiggle like jello. This system doesn't sound like it's set up properly.

@@mm6605 Multiple factors. One major one is that stock radio. Seats being down and the cargo cover being open/removed would help a good amount too.

I have a single 15 evl prefab in my highlander and it hits hard on stock electrical. I really like the size of it I can still actually use the back of my car. I got my 1/0 big three upgrade from skyhigh audio just today actually. Gonna put it in tomorrow. It is replacing a JL 12" tw3 sealed so it is only running on a mvr-m500 not rated for 1ohm but I do it anyway. Just plugged in the sub and boom it works fine but going to upgrade to sk series 1500.1. Will redo the 8ga power to 1/0 when that happens. If I am happy now what will it be like then? The bass is so big already...can't imagine NEEDING an upgrade from this and the sk amp will hit much harder? Smh...

@@subdynoman I already have a meter just don’t use it at shows. It’s a hassle having to carry it around, it can actually lead to drama for some, and extra work/time per demo. I rlly appreciate it man! I’ve thought about it but decided not to for those reasons and afew not mentioned.

You don’t need extra batteries for that budget system..Skar speakers/subs is for low bass you need 2-12” subs to equal one 😂😂😂

Two things, this video is WAY TOO LONG, and two, i have a Skar setup as well and they dont caulk inside of box it will fall apart, so i recommend removing your subs then caulking seams then fiberglass resin inside of box
