This company should be ashamed of themselves for what they sell, if you just want a basic computer this is fine, selling this as a refurbished gaming computer is outlandish.

This thing has been sitting on the floor for like 4 months unused, I’m going to take the cpu/ram/m.2/hdd and make a actual budget gaming pc out of those parts and probably sell the discrete rx550 4g gpu on eBay.

These computers by SJ/BTO are awful especially for gaming even though the Dell as you mentioned are good PCs. The biggest issue is including an RX 550 or GT 1030 that struggles to run modern Windows games with an SFF case that isn't designed for gaming (to be fair, the OptiPlex isn't meant for gaming or anything graphics intensive) and doesn't allow for card upgrades. Additionally, these PCs, like many others, tend to come with a no-name Wi-Fi adapter likely running at 802.11n which is very slow for modern gaming and these adapters using the Realtek chipset tend to have issues maintaining connection. The other big issue is that SJ Computers and a lot of sellers on Amazon/eBay/Walmart tend to come with a KingFast SSD that are known to fail, and the gaming keyboard and mouse aren't good quality compared to ones from Logitech, Corsair, Razer, and SteelSeries. Lastly, these PCs don't usually support Windows 11 without workarounds and if you do perform workarounds to install Windows 11, certain games like VALORANT, League of Legends, and Madden NFL 24 won't run due to lack of TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot. Despite the quality issue from SJ Computers and other similar issues, the SSD issue is easy to fix by replacing it and you could use a better keyboard and mouse instead of the ones with the computer. The Wi-Fi could be worked around by either using Ethernet or replacing the adapter with a name-brand USB or PCI-E adapter such as the TP-Link Archer T2U Plus. I feel a buyer shouldn't have to purchase a keyboard, mouse, Wi-Fi adapter, and SSD just to fix the issues. Imagine if someone isn't aware of the SSD (considering they usually never open the computer) and suddenly they can't use it because the SSD failed or what if they're unaware about these no-name Wi-Fi adapters which could be easy to assume their Wi-Fi connection is bad. I have to wonder how SJ Computers as well as STG Global/STGAubron, TecDale, and TechMagnet get away with selling PCs with junk components/peripherals let alone sell underpowered PCs as gaming PCs when it doesn't have a proper video card designed for modern games or even 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5) (or a name brand adapter) for downloading and playing multiplayer games. PrettyAF did a video of a Dell from SJ Computers with a GT 1030 and his video shows Fortnite struggling to run on this PC. My guess why they get away with this is because the computer is old and they aren't expecting a 10+ year-old PC to still be used even though old PCs can last well if they're properly maintained. I have an X99 gaming desktop I've used since 2017 (motherboard is actually from 2014) that is still working and the PC is still using the "original" 240 GB SSD and power supply. I understand a used computer isn't going to have the same quality as a new computer given the batteries in laptops degrade over time and the hard drive/SSD has obviously been used but what's not acceptable is a computer having issues with the SSD and Wi-Fi and it's not acceptable for a "gaming" desktop to have issues playing games. What makes it worse is that parents will buy these as birthday or Christmas because they think $300 is a good deal compared to $750+ for a genuine gaming desktop and they may end up with a PC that isn't good quality due to the poor quality parts/peripherals and can't run modern games, and likely be unsupported within 18+ months due to lack of Windows 11 support.

They sell a ton of these, I'm at the moment loading windows 11 on the parts I took out of it, I reused the cpu/ram/m.2 I decided not to use the hdd since its 10 years old When I'm all done it will make a decent budget gamer for someone, putting in a rx580 with lots of rgb and a fish tank case, I'll upload a video of it when I'm all done.

Dell OptiPlex, HP ProDesk, Lenovo ThinkCentre, etc. are just cheapo workstations that are off lease so SJ throws the "gaming" label on them. I've had a few of those over the years for the kids and are good for internet and homework, but that's about it. They should be ashamed of themselves..
