Six13 - Vehi She'amda: A Passover Anthem for Our Times

Times like Passover are some of the hardest to be apart. But as we've learned over the course of generations, there is no separation or circumstance that can break the bond we share through our history, our tradition and our faith.
In that same vein, we weren't about to let quarantines and social distance stop us from coming together in spirit, to do what we love and share this message of hope in song during these trying times. Know that even if you're alone, you're not alone.
Musicians and other performers have been hit especially hard by the COVID-19 crisis. If you're moved by our message and in a position to give, please support the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund:

===========================
Lyrics:
Today, we don't know what will be
Tomorrow, more uncertainty
We are filled with fear
We are plagued with suspense
Together, all so far apart
The world beyond our window starts to disappear
But our faith gives us strength to go on
To push through the darkness and reach the dawn
Vehi she'amda lavoteinu v'lanu
(And this is what kept our fathers and what keeps us surviving)
Shelo echad bilvad
(For not just one has arisen)
Amad aleinu l'chaloteinu
(To try to destroy us)
Went from Egypt to the promised land
Delivered there by G-d’s strong hand
And outstretched arm
We remember: we were slaves
Our traditions and our history
Keep us close as we could ever be
Though near or far
For G-d's strength gave us faith to go on
To push through the darkness and reach the dawn
Vehi she'amda...
V’HaKadosh Baruch Hu
(But the Holy One, Blessed be He)
Matzilenu mi'adam
(Delivers us from their hands)
And he'll deliver us again
Our tradition carries on
Vehi she'amda...
This promise binds us together
Our faith endures on forever
Ella sheb'chol dor vador
(In every generation)
Om'dim aleinu l'chaloteinu
(They rise up to try to destroy us)

Thank you so much for your faith filled and uplifting song! Today, I realized that I did not post a video for the start of Passover yesterday. Through God’s Grace, I found your Lion King Video and now this one. As a Catholic educator, we would teach our students that our Jewish brothers and sisters were our ancestors in faith. On the last day of school before our (Easter break) the Rabbi from our local synagogue would come to our school, and with the help of our room mothers having the items prepared “for the Seder Dinner”, he would explain to the students, what the people endured as slaves (with age appropriate information), and the history of the meal. The students looked forward every year to their Seder Meal with Rabbi Ruben. It was a yearly tradition that I am sure each student still reflects upon each Passover now that they are adults. I hope by posting this beautiful video, it will bring the same sense of peace and comfort to all who watch it as it has for me. May our Almighty God continue to bless each of you and your beautiful Families and keep you safe as you stay home.🙏🏼💝🏘
