Wales countered England's ill discipline with double digit handling errors, 7 or 8 line-outs lost and schoolboy errors during "power play". It was a great contest but Wales managed to overcome England with their strong will not to win.

Tbh I'm not aware of how Georgia are faring at the moment but they should not be discarded as contenders for a QF spot.

Compare this to the Scotland vs France match and it's clear to see that there is currently a huge difference between the top 5 and the rest of the tier 1 nations. As an impartial, this game was pretty dismal to watch, with the only moment of joy being Farrell finally meeting his comeuppance.

Poor performances all round. England should've had an easy time against this Wales b-side. Handling errors for too high on both sides, and Wales' failure to take advantage of a 12-man England is unforgivable. I think Farrell demonstrated how he is too much of a liability to play in the WC, and Ford demonstrated excellent game management when they needed it.

Farrell's a cripple to England. With him in the team, the opponent has 16 players and he's got a bad attitude that certainly doesn't put England in a bright light.

Completely agree. Effectively England A vs Wales B and England still struggled to make any in-roads. People around me in the crowd were blaming Borthwick being essentially a forwards coach but it runs deeper than that. As for Wales, they threw it away in that last 10-15 minutes, so Gatland was right to be furious with them after the match. So far, only Scotland have really impressed, but only then in short spells, mixed in with awful spells. France pretty much the same. Ireland were comfortable against Italy but didn't really dominate, but perhaps they didn't need to. Next game against England will be *very* revealing. South Africa had their hands full in the 2nd half against Argentina on Johannesburg but appear to have been better last week. Good test for Wales on Saturday: everyone will expect SA to win so they don't stand to gain much but have a lot to lose.

How on earth did Wales concede a rolling maul try with 3 more men? That must have been a great tactic by them.

Farrell is a baller. I'm Welsh. He's got what any team has to have. Problem is he's not learning. Can't seem to understand that shoulder point head impacts in a tackle will get you banned. Can he learn? I'm not sure.

Farrell should have had a lot more of these through his career - he's been lucky up to now. Maybe some of the officials have been watching the many videos available regarding his 'tackling' technique?

Farrell will be looked after as he usually is ,that's the reason he doesn't learn anything.

Esp. their defence which stood up and kept them at 1 try for over 50 mins and stayed within 6 points for nearly 70. It was by far their best game of the campaign and a testament that they can still give their all when all the chips are down.

The new system, borrowed from the southern hemisphere, is that a yellow card is given, and then in the 10 minutes the incident is reviewed to see if it warrants a red card. It avoids the lengthy stoppage for an on-field review

How in Christ's name did they downgrade that red card. He clearly has a problem with tackle technique as he does this all the time

As an England fan this was very poor - if Eng play like this in the World cup they won't be getting very far!

watching this again after reading the disciplinary panel's explanation about how Farrell's testimony was consistent with video evidence - wow, it's not even funny! what were those blokes thinking?

This is SOO OLD it could be a game from any of the last 5 decades. Neither of these lame teams will win the World Cup. As a spectacle of entertainment this rates as 2/10. The ref is the star of the show.

Gatland was furious and rightly so. He picked a very,very experimental side and they didn't fire. I'm convinced Wales will be a tough team to beat at RWC. It's awesome being written off by anyone with a braincell though.

That's crazy. Farrell has consistently tackled like that his entire career, in an age where rugby is supposedly watching for head trauma, and continues to get away with it.

First, I enjoy all the w.c. Games, but I always find England incredibly boring. For example, wales gets a brilliant running try, and England replies with a boring ruck push over.

This game is corrupt. How is Farrell not banned? Beaumont waving his magic wand again.

I think you should be saying that if this is the standard of players being selected for world cup then the RWC is f#@ked. Everything that the ref blew and carded was legit.

Poor game, too many cards for niggling decisions. Referees should be allowed to use common sense.
