Cool video. I appreciate you clarifying a lot of the purchasing and import related questions. I am considering buying a landing craft aluminum boat from Alibaba, but was hesitant to do so. Now I have a better understanding of what this entails. Thank you! As for the criticism of not "buying American" . . . when corporations move their manufacturing abroad, sell their products are regular prices and pocket the savings, it is called "capitalism": When you cut out the middle man, some people criticize this from their Chinese made phones, while using their Chinese made "American" tools! Ignore the haters . . . I appreciate you!

Drove thru Vantage a million times when I used to drive truck. I too have a Hitachi excavator but it has the pricey John Deere paint and also have a Southland trailer. Nice video. I am looking at getting a 2.0 tonne mini China excavator as well.

I can tell he has done a lot of research, he knows his stuff👍

Very helpful info. Too bad didn't know all this ahead of time when I brought my machine in a year ago. Done many smaller shipments from China and used DHL and UPS to handle everything to my door. This was my first purchase that came in a crate. Most of the parts for "American" machines are coming from China any way and are used in these "off brand" machines.

I just got 2000lb gas powered one from an auction under 6k out the door. It came with a flat bucket, mechanical thumb, a grabber, and a quick coupler. Seems to be a good machine. The cat excavators were selling for 40,000 bucks +

What was the total cost to you for the package you ordered and how long did it finally take to get it?

I’m hoping to just google and source from regular auto parts and engine parts dealers here in the US. As long as they are still making machines I think I can easily get undercharge parts from the China manufacture. If that fails I have a friend who is a machinist (-:

Looking at buying one off Alibaba but wht was thr price if you don't mind me asking seeing excavators for 2000 or less just need rough idea so I don't get screwed

@@jakebell1947 My small machine with a handful of attachments and fees landed for $9200 cdn. Thats when container prices were just coming down a bit. Now container prices are way down from 1-2 years ago. But they. advertise a crazy low price as a base and before you know it will easily double from the advertised price.

@@jakebell1947 13%. unless you have a import tax number. Of coarse mine had expired. I believe it would have been 8% if my number was good. For the sake of I believe $125 cdn difference I wasn't going to drive 3hr home and pay for storage and come back and waste another day to pick it up.

Man how did that trailer and car manage to tow that mini excavator - doesn’t that thing weigh like 2k lbs??

I have heard recommendations to ship door to door. Can save a boatload of hassle as well as port fee rip-offs. Can anyone confirm this?

You can do it in one step with just going to an actual importer who has an inventory and get a better machine.

@jakebell1947 hydraulic thumb standard. Upgraded Eaton pumps Parker drive units, thicker steal, better welds, side swing option, still get kubota engines or real briggs and straton and just the fact that if you need a part or support you actually have someone here who speaks English and will actually answer the phone after sale. They are just spected out better. When you do it yourself unless you know what to ask for, you are going to get the cheapest of the cheap.. Look into ground hog, iorn rhino, or my favorite Kymron equipment.

Most newer chevys are built by toyota just rebranded....this goes for equinox, and some cars

@@quarantainment293 no to this day they collaborate on thing when Chevy wanted to sell their light duty work truck the Chevy Kodiak Toyota bought the plant and Hino trucks was born to fill niche where Kodiaks once filled. I worked for a custom large truck builder for 26 years as a Tech.

In buying anything from outside the US you are costing American jobs.

No you aren’t , look at a (USA corporated) caterpillar 320 for example Chinese pumps all over the machine . Your (I thought they were)USA made machines are Chinese machines with corporate slugs gathering hefty markups to keep living lavishly while (pulling heart strings of made in USA)

It just makes you wonder why I comparable " American" machine would be over $30,000. It's almost a no-brainer to buy the $5,000 Chinese machine unless you are in some kind of excavation business. These affordable machines allow people like me to get our jobs done more cost-effective therefore I can employ more people on my farm. It's actually a small win for American jobs. The cost of equipment is one of the biggest drains for running a business besides labor
