Six-month update on the Red Wing 3343 Blacksmiths in Copper Rough & Tough leather

After six months, I have many brushes and one conditioning under my belt. I mainly wear these to and from the office, in and out of facilities, and out and about doing errands.
I swapped out the flat waxed laces for leather laces.
I wanted the leather to stay as natural as possible to its original color, so I used the red wing leather cream very lightly. It helped rehydrate them after a few months of regular wear, and the key was to use a light amount.
The cork mid soles have formed to my feet perfectly. This took about two months.
I work in an office that was converted from an old leather factory, so it is very cool to kick around this leather in that old nostalgic building. Let me know if you want any B roll or tours of the building. It’s right by the Harley Davidson Museum in Milwaukee!
Thanks for checking out the video!

Man, I have a pair of those. I have a lot of pairs of boots. But I got those two years ago and since they've been my dedicated work boot. I love em but due to really hard wearing and over conditioning (for work, I am a site manager at a roofing company) the color is almost like Amber Harness at this point. I have a few pairs of Nick's and White's as well. But I'm thinking about buying another pair of the 3343s for the weekends. When you don't over condition them, the color is just amazing and your look perfect.

That’s awesome you get to rock these on a regular basis. Oh, I feel you on the over-conditioning. My 1st pair of 1907 Copper RT, I did the same thing. They are so conditioned they’re almost shiny. For these, I really concentrated on not changing the color this time. So for the conditioner I’ve been using the Natural Cream neatsfoot blend. It doesn’t change the color and gives them some hydration back. These are in my top 3 boots no doubt.

They did darken down after some time and conditioner. So, I do agree, they don't look copper anymore. But I am really liking the patina. I used neutral boot cream, to try and minimize the darkening. I also have used the Red Wing water resistant spray (non-silicone based).
