I have the Maestri House. The jug is stainless steel and very easy to clean. There’s no peg/spindle on the bottom to get in the way. They even provide a sponge in a set of refillable tongs for cleaning. It’s quick and easy to clean the frother attachment and jug. I was pleasantly surprised to find I have less of a problem with residue sticking to the bottom of the jug than I did with the nonstick ones I had before.

Battery powered wand for the win in our house :) The nice thing about those battery powered wands is that they are awesome for mixing any sort of powdered drink. Hot chocolate, cold chocolate milk, protein powder, even instant coffee (gasp!) or powdered fruity drink mixes. The rest of the devices kind of seem like unitaskers. My go-to is pour over, so I don't really need anything terribly fancy, just a way to mix well. :)

I have had the Breville for about two years now and I love it! I drink tea (not coffee) and use it all the time to make tea lattes. With the magnetic stirrers it is very easy to clean either by hand in the sink or by just putting in soap and water and run a cycle (also is dishwasher safe but the stirrer part sometime will not fully clean if power like matcha or hot chocolate). It has held up great, makes wonderful milk drinks of all types and is a daily driver in my kitchen.

I LOVE my Nespresso Aeroccino! And I'll say this as a fellow lactose-intolerant coffee drinker: lactose-free milk is the bomb! I use 2% (and add in a tablespoon of vanilla coconut creamer cuz it's the only creamer that doesn't destroy the foam) and it creates a beautiful thick foam that I incorporate with the crema on my freshly-brewed cup of Nespresso coffee. Two fun things: A- Maestri House makes a slightly cheaper, solid-unit frother with all the same buttons! My roommate got it for me for my birthday (I like to make tea lattes and hot chocolate). It works a dream, and you can even customize that 10-30% foam range based on how high you fill up the milk (either to min vs. frothing max line). I think it was closer to the $50 range? B- From a Fromagere, lactose intolerance is a spectrum, and you seem to be on the low end of intensity. That's why you can do cheese (I'd guess harder cow cheeses, and definitely sheep/goat are all good, yes?) but not anything with high lactose like ice cream. As cheese ages, the lactose is converted out- so people on the low end can usually do harder cheeses. Goat and sheep's milk have entirely different lactose structures, so they're also less likely to be problematic for those who struggle!

There's a special use case that really separates some steamers from others: Making hot chocolate with crushed, REAL chocolate (rather than cocoa powder). I curranty have a Breville-style steamer. It's nice for milk drinks in general, if you don't want to use a steam wand, but it tends to get stuck on bits of chocolate, which is SUPER aggravating and messy to get unstuck. Earlier I had a steamer similar to the maestro with a little basket you could slip over the disk for hot chocolateíng. It was perfect, but the frother's (magnetic) connection to the had stability issues - I gave up on it after returning two units.

I have a frothing wand and I love it. I use it for my instant coffee and milk recipe that I left as a comment in a previous video. It does a really good job for what I need it to do. So, at the $12.99 price that I paid for it, I can't complain one bit. It does need a battery (maybe 2), but I've only had to change/charge the battery maybe 3 times in the year that I've had it.

I have the SMEG milk frother and I love it so much. It's very similar to the Breville in price, features, and how to use. It's very easy to clean and I like that SMEG has so many color options, so if someone's kitchen/coffee setup is themed or follow a particular color concept it's easy to match your setup.

The Maestri House also has 3 options for the metal frothers, the blade, the whisk and the top cap, which will all alter the texture further, essentially 3 options per 3 settings, 9 options in total.

After going through 3 different Nespresso models and getting so frustrated with how difficult it is to keep clean, we bought a Severin 3587 and haven't looked back. Adjustable temperature, put the whole canister into the dishwasher. My only niggle is that I'd like to be able to turn off the button beeps, but after 3 years of daily use this thing is flawless. Worth the $100 ish paid at the time.

The Bodum is my first milk frother and I bought it on a whim along with a moka pot at Target one day. I like it a lot, and actually if I remove the whisk and keep the black piece inside, it produces the right amount of foam that I want (I get quite a lot when I leave the whisk in). I wish the container was removable for washing for simplicity. But in the end I would recommend it to someone who wants to simplify their morning routine for a relatively small amount of money. If I would do it again, I might have gotten a handheld frother so I could fine tune the froth amount exactly and save a little bit of money, but it is what it is.

My grandma actually bought me a nespresso frother and I use it all the time! I usually make my coffee while the frother is working so that the 70-80 seconds go by quickly. Also, I'm pretty sure it goes for only about a minute if you're frothing the milk cold

I have the Instant brand one that is similar to the Bodum in look and design. It has settings for heating only, low and high foam and one for cold frothing/mixing. It doesn't do great for pouring art texture milk, but it is great for heating the milk and the heating will mix a nice hot cocoa. I used the heating with it and a NanoFoamer to texture the milk before I got my Bambino Plus.

I have the Maestri House frother. It does go on sale for closer to the $80-100 range (it’s on sale right now). Three things to like about it: 1) With a 21oz capacity, it is roomy enough to make large lattes for two people at the same time. 2) The jug is all stainless steel with no spindle/peg on the bottom, so it’s very easy to clean, and there is no nonstick coating to get damaged or wear out from repeated heating. 3) With three ways to arrange the foaming attachment, it is even more customizable than Morgan was able to show in a brief review. When combined with the foam settings of the touchpad, you can go all the way from almost no foam at all to a thick, heavy foam you can scoop out with a spoon. Also, because the attachment sits flat in the jug, you’re able to mix in things like cocoa powder, matcha, spices, etc.. My other frother would get stuck when powders would get between the attachment and the spindle/peg that it sits on. I liked my other frother otherwise, but needed a replacement when it got damaged. I’ve had this one for three months now, and I’m very pleased with it.

For ease of use and making latte art, I have found the hand held wand or a French press to be the best and cheapest frothers. The hand held wand has a technique to it similar to an espresso steaming wand. The French press is faster, and there are more videos out there demonstrating how to get the right consistency so I always recommend it. I’ve never had luck getting those automatic milk frothers to give me good latte art microfoam. But I also haven’t tried any in the $200 up range.

Thanks, Morgan! I asked for the Maestri House for Christmas, and I love it! I made a pair of _fabulous_ cappuccinos yesterday, and a pair of delicious lattes this morning (Joe - The Daily for my partner and GGET - Homeschool Blend for me for the cappos; Counter Culture - Hologram for my partner and Red Bay - Slow Burn for me for the lattes). Textures were perfect, it's dead-silent, really easy to use, and even came with its own little cleaning sponge which was a nice touch. Great recommendation! I also got an Aeropress and I have a KINGrinder K6 coming (Asian market version of the 1zpresso K-Plus, completely identical, but half the price) so I can start making my own instead of having to pay $90 a month for Cometeer. I'm getting a real setup! (Along with my Bonavita kettle and a pourover scale). Also just got a Trade subscription. :)

Oh, also, with the Maestri House, there's a layer of customization you didn't go over. You have the three temps, and the three foam settings on the machine itself... but you can also run the bare blades, blades plus spring, or blade, spring, and agitator cover, for least-medium-most foam as well. So low-foam, bare blades, won't foam at all (the blades just keep the milk moving to avoid hot spots), where the full mechanism and thick setting is legit thick dollopable milk. :)

Hi Morgan, I just wanted to say thank you. Your video helped me select the Maestri. I bought the one from your link, and we couldn't be happier. I've been making pour over for years(switch) in a number of methods, and she wanted to make tea latte. So, in playing with the new toy, I've lowered my pour from 300g to 200g, and add 75-100g of 160 degree whole milk with the heaviest foam. She's finally been able to make an actual London Fog. The hot chocolate is also pretty great and incredibly easy. Thanks again for the amazing details and wonderful personality you show in all your videos and shorts.

Personally I love hand frothers, I was a barista up until fairly recently so I find them nice and easy to use. I also pretty much only drink cold coffee so having the milk heated isn't a priority for me, plus I love making flavored cold foams for a slightly subtler way to add in some sweetness.
