Medusa was the original name of the coaster when it opened in 1999. They changed it to Bizarro in 2009 and then back to Medusa a couple years ago.

My Home Park Great Adventure. Since you like Amusement Park History, the one thing Six Flags will never mention is the horrific Haunted House Fire that killed 8 people on May 11, 1984. The location is where the new coaster is being built. Every ride that has been placed in that area has failed. Six Flags failed to have any memorial or Plaque to remember the victims. All of which were on school trips (like Adventureland the other day).

I think a lot of people in the UK are impressed that Thorpe park opened colossus and nemesis inferno back to back but six flags great adventure is even more impressive opening kingda Ka and el Toro back to back.

Top Thrill 2 is phenomenal!

Been waiting for this video and Charlotte's first reaction to KK. Fun fact, Medusa originally debuted as Medusa 1999 but was changed to Bizzaro in 2009 and then changed back to Medusa in 2022. Glad you guys had a good day with low crowds.

I just watched a POV of the new coaster. It looks like it will be a good time! Very interesting layout.

This is my home park. I live about 20 minutes away. I haven't been there in YEARS most because it's gone downhill. I rather drive 2-3 hours to Dorney Park or Hershey.

I went to this park when I was really young I would love to go back and ride all the coasters! I love these daily uploads!

Shawn and Charlotte, Grew up in Jackson, N.J. when Great Adventure was still the Switlick EState. There was an animal safari there along with the original rides. Jackson was a large farming area. Medusa started as such in 1999. It was Bizarro for 12 years starting in 2009. From 2021 to present it’s back to Medusa. Great video as always Shawn and Charlotte!

Glad she finally got on Kingda Ka. Actually, the Safari is done by the jeeps near the log flume again this year. It’s just that with all of the construction being done in that area of the park it’s closed off for the time being. But once the construction on the log flume and mine train is done, it will reopen and be like it was when you first went to this park.

For the future and for anyone outside of the US, with the exception of the Florida, southern CA, and maybe Texas parks, MOST parks here are just getting going for the season in May and often aren't at full operations and often aren't looking their best yet. Schools are still in session and the combo of not enough staff available and lower crowds keeps things low key. Memorial Day weekend, the last weekend in May, is the more traditional start of full operations, water rides opening, etc. Glad you got Kingda Ka, you should have seen my scared of heights husband's face when we got him to ride it, lol.

8:20 It is Porky Pig. Warner Brothers still have a contract with Six Flags to provide Looney Tunes characters at their parks. Wish Warner Brothers would open their own theme parks in the states, similar to Dubai and Australia.

Thiis is more or less my home park and I will defend Nitro as my favorite coaster there! I'm not happy that the cable cars are down ... this park is massive and you really need a break from walking the distance from Kingda Ka to Nitro and back to Medusa!

4:53 these are truly my favourite coasters.

Green Lantern was relocated from Kentucky Kingdom where it opened in 1997 as Chang, stealing the “record breaking” stand up title from Cedar Point’s then one-year-old Mantis (now Rougarou) by being less than ten feet taller, and a few feet longer. It’s also basically a mirror image clone of Mantis/Rougarou. When Six Flags parted with Kentucky Kingdom they took the massive B&M. Seems like an odd coincidence that all the observation-type rides appear to be indefinitely out of service. 🤔

4:30 I saw yall in line that morning on kingda ka should’ve said hi while I had the chance I got 2 front row rides that morning the line was dead when yall got on the train it was like 2 people in the station

$65.00 is absolutely ridiculous for parking. Busch Gardens Williamsburg is our home park, just 40 miles from us. We have passes and go almost weekly and i believe parking is $34.00. It is a much prettier park. Lately a lot of things are closed. Alpengeist is down for a while due to a crack in the footing. Much love to you both. My dream is to see you sometime.

I’m not sure if anyone else in the comments mentioned it but, I heard from my friend that works there that the sky lift was going to be closed for the season! Im upset about it but I’m sure it’s for a good reason 🤷

I personally think that kingda ka looks better than original dragster because it reaches a higher top speed in 0.3 seconds faster than dragster did and has an extra 36ft and, most importantly, has the huge airtime hill. I think top thrill 2 is probably the best of the 3 though because of the spike and that insane speed it now crests the top hat.

You still have not been to ours in Darien Center, NY. we do have very nice rides and coasters. Enjoying your journey.
