I'm brought back to a one night stand where both of us promised not to fall in love. Heartbreak ensued when she told me that she longed for so much more... ... because I also did... ... She brought this up at a party we both attended some weeks after we had our night together. We sat on the back deck of the house. Before I could muster the "right" words to express how much I cared for her, how much she had been on my mind, how deeply I wanted to be with her as more than friends... fellow party-goers walked in on the hushed conversation we were having. We both just sat there, staring at the floor. Our friends were being really loud and raucous, and the moment we had was ruined. I had lost the opportunity to reciprocate that sweet, heartfelt sentiment she gave me... I looked up and noticed her eyes begin to tear up. She muttered something... which I believe was her saying goodbye... and excused herself from the party. It breaks my fucking heart because that was the last time I ever saw her. We no longer talk to each other. She blocked any form of future contact I could potentially have with her (phone, social media, etc.). She also stopped hanging out with our shared friendsgroup. I may be wrong in this, but I assume it's because she's taken my silence as a form of disinterest... maybe even disrespect. The vision of her beginning to cry is embedded in my mind, and she's a memory which haunts me from time to time. Thoughts of love lost used to cloud my mind, but I try my hardest not to dwell on it. Doing so only leads to nothing but unhappiness. Instead, I hope one day she'll find someone who she can share that kind of passion, tenderness, and love with for longer than a single night. She was beyond sweet to me, and I only pray she's found a man who won't be afraid of expressing those deep forms of sentiment I'm sure she's dying to hear. I want nothing but the best for her in life, because she deserves it. If there's one thing I've learned, is not to have one night stands anymore. A cheap, sped up rendition of the love I have to offer someone is a cold charade of the person I truly am. I've now matured past the deadly silence of not speaking my mind. Maybe not past the experience I've had with this girl (that'll be something I have to carry), but through the experience. I never again wish to make anyone I deeply care for have the impression that they're not worthy of my love in its entirety, for I feel that I'm worthy of the purest forms of love as well. Before I found this song, I was afraid that I was alone in knowing what this kind of pain felt like. I'm not glad that someone else has felt it too, but I'm greatful that there's a song for that helpless feeling of being on the outside of true love.

Je suis absolument et résolument admiratif de la musique de Sivert. Elle transcende selon moi (comme Firs Aid Kit en Suède, en leur registre) ce qui se fait de mieux en matière de pop/rock ces dernières décennies. Avec une connotation humaniste très scandinave qui est loin de me déplaire. Je suis accro aux concerts à Athina. J'ai été très peiné lors des deuils qu'ont dû dépasser les Madrugada.
