    Simply not possible. Not at 54 with chronic low back pain.

    What if I can't do this? How can I progress? Like, I can't even lift my ass off the ground

    Hi, you could breakdown the exercise to squats, and single leg exercises, lunges, split squats and build up your leg muscles and see if that help.

    ​@@SYBphysiopilatesI'm very comfortable in the squat position. My single legged squats/pistol squats are almost non existent however. Could be hip mobility as my ankle flexibility seems great. Anyway, I've since been progressing on single legged touch downs, slowly getting to a pistol squat!
