Sitka wader warranty: Tears, patches, pinholes $30-$70 “depending on severity”. Boot replacement “due to wear” $200. Suspender replacement “due to wear” $40. End of season service, $125. Includes up to 4 pinhole patches and if a warranty issue is found (I.e. a manufacturing defect) it will be fixed free of charge.

I have 4 pairs of waders hanging in my garage. 2 of them leak or are "temporarily patched."

I wish they made a jacket that's like the jetstream but with upright shell pockets, handwarmer chest pockets and a removable hood. Jetstream is the best all around jacket. Also, some kind of felt or cleat option for the wader boots. Like some slip on felt bottoms. I can't wear rubber boots over mossy river rocks.

Don’t hunt water as much so I have the Hudson for an outer. What do you think of grinder hoody Fahrenheit vest and the new Dakota jacket under that for late season?? Dakota jacket looks great because it’s a more durable outer compared to some prima-loft like duck oven or Fahrenheit jacket.

  • @wingmen_eastmans

The Dakota Jacket would be a great extra layer for your system. We would suggest you wear it over the Grinder Hoody and Fahrenheit vest though. It will help you trap the warm air better that way as it is designed to be a mid/outer layer. It will work extremely well under your Hudson for sure and you will probably wear it by itself quite a bit too. Good luck this fall and thanks for the comment.

Do you think the heavy weight pants and gradient bib under the delta waders is enough to keep you warm standing in water? I hunt in Michigan and often have hunts with temps in the teens, sometimes below zero. I want to get away from neoprene waders but the lack of insulation in the delta zip waders scares me.

MM, They still offer the Heavyweight Hoody but the Gradient Hoody is a solid choice too. It's a bit heavier and warmer than the Heavyweight Hoody but either are excellent choices. Thanks for the kind words.

I’m dying to give these waders a try this year, but am having trouble finding any in my size. Seems the only sizes available are xxl size 13 boot. Get Sitka to sell me a large size 9 boot and I’ll subscribe! Lol!

Honest question that deserves a honest answer how many years have you got out of your waders? That's always the first piece to fail. If your endorsing 1 yr. or you get a new pair ever yr. Then that's a problem.

IMHO close to 100% Merino wool is best for first and second layer if needed as well as socks. Nothing manufactured provides as much warmth. Then just stop the wind with another layer and whatever else you need.

All the layering pieces collect to many burrs, stickers and other scratchy, annoying things when walking through marshes and fields. It is a terrible material as an outer layer.

  • @wingmen_eastmans

We've found that packing in our layering pieces and wearing just the light shell keeps those nasty little clingers at bay and helps us regulate our temps on long walks to the blinds and spots we hunt.

Put the insulation pieces on once set up at your spot. Wear your outer layer in at it is most durable layer.
