Robyn had to have known ahead of time that the girls were coming over for second Christmas because she mentioned buying more gifts so her kids would have something to open during the celebration. She could have invited Meri but she didn’t.

I think she means “meeting her needs”. I think she has a physical attraction to him, she kinda did not want to be tied to the homestead. So the polygamy lifestyle worked. I hate to say this but Cody was sort of right when he suggested he was just filling her love tank.

To me, in this episode Meri almost seemed to be shaken into reality by Robyn's exaggerations and lies. I was so glad that Meri stated that she knows Christine well enough to know that Christine didn't state that her entire time with the family was a complete hell. Looking back, I am wondering if the women were having trouble back then based on what Kody was saying. Did he somehow orchestrate the wives not getting along? Was he more in charge when they were NOT getting along? Also, when Meri stated that Kody could do something about the family not getting along, Robyn was kind of shocked that Meri stated that. Robyn knows what Kody should do? Robyn was just surprised that Meri threw that out there.

I feel that all the wives have developed a wisdom that comes with age. Kody, on the other hand, is mentally stunted and has remained a 10 year old boy. Even his kids have matured beyond kody.

I'm guessing Meri didn't fully move out of the rental until earlier this year was because that's when her lease was up. Breaking the lease on that place would have cost a fortune. So her telling Robyn she was moving out was more "I'm not renewing my lease here." (I know, unheard of from this family who typically announces & moves in a weekend 😂).

Edited to add: I do disagree with one thing. I remember when they’d go ice blocking with the kids, Kody was a lot more fun to watch back then. Me too, and that Kody forced her to buy it at that secondhand store seasons ago, which I also remembered! Meri's rental in the episode is apparently $5,000/month - HOW/WHY would she still have that longgg chair?! It's not a sofa to me. One major thing is I believe Kody forced her to buy it not only because he was being an impatient a-hole to her in the store, but so he can say Meri's house is uncomfortable and that's why he doesn't go there.

Poor Meri is so clueless that Robyn and Kody literally could not care less what she does and she's out forever. Robyn didn't even crack a fake tear for her.

Meri was better this episode than she’s been in a long time.

Robyn is the legal wife and therefore 'first wife' no matter what Kody says. Meri was trained to show deference to the 'first wife'. The 'first wife' has the power to veto the decisions of other wives, like Meri going back to school. Meri is fighting her training to remain submissive to the 'first wife'. I think that's why Meri is fearful of Robyn.

Meris doesn't want Kody to think she's abandoning the marriage. So when she talked to Robyn, she also talked to Kody by extension, because Robyn speaks "Kody."

I'm here for Johns pencil jokes always makes me laugh. I can relate with Nikki saying if someone called to have a talk with her, she'd assume they were upset with her.

Meri and Robyn have the weirdest relationship, like Meri is married to Robyn and not Kody. She’s become like a mascot or a cheerleader for Robyn. It’s such a dehumanizing and bizarre dynamic.

My first thought if someone in my family said “we need to sit and talk about something” would be that there is a medical issue. I would be worried about cancer or another serious disease.

Jenelle said come and pack up. He refused. She packed him up and is paying for his storage. Robin probably tried to intervene before the storage facility🤣

The look in Robin’s face after she unloaded on Meri that everything was “Christine’s fault” was priceless. She recognized REAL fast that Meri wasn’t buying it. Best scene in awhile.

I seem to remember Robyn saying she is not a victim when she confronted Christine's aunt at the conference they had early in the series. The one where they were trying to convince the world that Polygamy was great.

Totally agree with John about the pencil wetting thing, when Kody said that about his children was disgusting and inappropriate, he deserves to have it thrown back in his face at every available opportunity.

I think Meri’s weirdness is her attempt to make drama for the show. She’s not like that on her own feeds. I also think she intentionally threw shade by implying Robyn is NO friend - NEVER calls. Proves she only shows up for the paycheck. Best part of the episode.

That's a good point about Meri. Her show moments are basically her calling family members to her house (Robyn & Kody) to share some "breaking news" that she makes more dramatic than it is. She is a totally different person when she's hawking her products, or popping on Instagram to say hello to her fans. Even in her couch interviews for the show, she appears more aware of the b.s. going on around her in the family.

Exactly. It didn't look like fear to me. It was Meri stretching out a story that could have taken 3 minutes to tell and then not getting the type of reaction from Robyn that she expected. I think she wanted a little more "begging and pleading" from Robyn. I think Robyn's reaction showed Meri just how much Robyn doesn't care what happens to her. Robyn's indifference was hard to watch. I feel bad for Meri because I think who does she really have in her life that really cares about her.

I think it all comes down to money with Kody and Robyn. Kody’s face when Janelle said she wanted to stay separated, and Robyn’s face when Meri said she was moving her business - both looked like they were inwardly thinking/worrying. And I think that concern is about money. They have been living off of the the other wives financial contributions and I bet they have worked out how much of a hit they will take when/if each wife leaves. I think in those moments both of them are thinking ‘cr@p, how are we going to cover the mortgage and bills’. The financial aspect was the only thing Kody was worried about when Christine said she was leaving. I think that’s why K&R created the DABSARK Company, to get their kids on the payroll to fill in for the loss of the other wives financial contributions.

It sounds like the real issue for Janelle is faith/belief issues about marriage rather than her marriage to Kody.

I wonder if when she told Kody she was making the move, he finally said directly to her that he wasn’t coming back. I doubt it… he lacks intestinal fortitude… but he also seems so fed up with her that he’d almost tell her to make it permanent.

Robin doesn't like it when decisions are made that affect her life. Wow! Robin has turned the og wives lives upside down with every decision she has made ever since she invaded their lives. This is a life of your own making, Robin. No one is making decisions based on how it affects you.

I think Janelle called Kodi had it on speaker, and Robin was in the vicinity and brought it into the conversation

I do love that Meri told Robyn that she’s got to reach out. Meri did say that Robyn never reaches out

I never really thought that Meri liked any of the kids. It appeared that she tried in her own way but it always seemed that she kept Leon away from the group and has stated she wasn't going to babysit any of the kids. Meri did not allow the kids go into her part of the house when they all lived together. Meri and Robyn are alot alike when it comes to not liking the other kids. I think maybe Leon was the game changer for Meri as I'm sure Robyn is not accepting of the transition, and I'm sure Meri isn't thrilled with Robyn financially exploiting her at this point. Very messy

Not saying it’s right, but I wonder how much of that was fueled by grief over only being able to have Leon, & then the other wives seeming to not have an issue with that. She may have also been going through multiple pregnancy losses during that time

@@emilymosley9549 I'm sure that had something to do with it and I'm sure while she was grieving she went through it alone, Kody was busy making babies with the other wives. The other wives (except Robyn) had different parenting styles. I see similarities with Robyn and Meri and Meri probably thought she would have an ally only to get taken advantage of financially. I hope Meri finds happiness and stays away from Robyn and Kody. She deserves to be happy and find somebody that lives her as she is.

I have to say that I always felt that Meri was crazy about the kids. She was always involved with them. Gabe and Ysabel used to hang on her.

Meri didn't like them using her house as the walk through to get to the other houses. The older kids hung out there with Leon a lot of the time. Meri loved the kids and enjoyed being with them. I am sure she found it very hard at times when she was dealing with her losses to have them around and that might have been the times she didn't want them in her house.

I'm sure there is a lot of pain associated with the other kids. Meri sees herself as a failure because she only provided 1 child. I can see she might resent the other kids because of this. It isn't right, but human nature could be causing her to feel that she is somehow 'less than'. That makes me feel so bad for meri. She needs therapy WITHOUT KODY, to build her self esteem. I hope being with her friends in Utah will give her a better life. She has been kodys whipping boy for too long.

The number of times I yelled at my TV "you lying bitch" to Robyn! I just can't with her. Kody grosses me out, especially the preview for next week and the giddy kiss comment; Ugh!
