So, help me understand. Robyn came into the family, found out they don’t celebrate Easter. Instead of complying with that “Kody” decision, she lays it down that she will take HER kids to her moms to celebrate anyway. That is so ok with Kody that he actually changes the family rules and add Easter to the family holiday calendar. But… if another wife wants to stand up for her child/ children on a “family” rule, she is disloyal and must be punished? It sounds like Robyn was a “bad sister wife” by Kody’s own definition to me.

Meri, christine, janelle all said they would endorse a family activity, but again robin, who is all alone treading water just off the coast of brown Island, said no to the get together. My husband and I have a blended family. We have 10 children total and now 6 grandchildren. To not have the adult children with their kids traveling all over creation on Christmas Day, we celebrate as a whole family on the first Saturday after New Year’s Day. We have a sign we hang on the door that says when they walk through the door, they step back in time to Christmas morning. We have breakfast, search for the Christmas pickle on the tree, open gifts, have supper and spend the evening playing games. Many of the out of town children spend the night, some local kids go home, some also spend the night and we have a beautiful time. Christmas is when we say it is. December 25th is a day that was chosen forever ago. We chose to put our family before a date in December.

@@baggawells9527 They are so grateful to know they aren’t disappointing us by not seeing us “Christmas Day.” They could never disappoint us by prioritizing the families they are growing. They need to establish their own Christmas morning traditions without the stress of rushing around trying to be in four houses in one day. It just isn’t fair to the kids. They love this tradition and I hope they adopt it when their little ones become adults. We all win because we have one day when we can all be together that is designated just for us and observe the true meaning of Christmas.

Right!? Is this going to be all the families showing up to throw down? I doubt it. Likely they'd do what we all do at family gatherings.... avoid the people we don't like. What they are worried about in that scenario is that it will be everyone having fun and then being left out.

I agree about the word "unsafe" being used in that context. Imo, "safe" means free from danger. So, as you said, unless the family members come brandishing lethal weapons, I think they would be "safe". That's not to say an argument might break out between bickering siblings, but then that's a typical family gathering.

I believe Kody is intentionally trying to hurt his other kids by saying how much he favors Robyn’s kids on camera, and it’s absolutely disgusting. It’s really to the point where I think it’s inappropriate to show it unless they also show a producer pushing back on his verbal abuse. This will scar his kids for life.

@@janicenicol6453 I’m sure all the kids have scars from such a dysfunctional family, but favoritism is absolutely damaging. It’s a tale as old as time, and I’ve seen it firsthand. Having their dad reject them openly on national television is next level cruel, and I don’t believe production should allow it.

This episode really cemented that things really are over with them all, no one cares what they say anymore, Im so curious what specifically caused the shift because even before this even though we knew they werent getting along, most of them didnt actually say it...Christine making fun of Robyn saying you have to sleep with someone else to really be divorced had me howling with laughter, she just does not care! Then the part where the wives talk about kody leaving in the morning to go help robyn's kids, I was like yes! finally they said it! and Christine was like why isn't she getting off her and getting those kids to school, I suppose its at least something Robyn knew that was going to cause a problem! It was also very obvious that Janelle is done at this point but having an inner battle because of religion, curious to see later on what changes that for her - and I can't for Meri to tell Kody and Robyn next week she deserves more than being alone forever, see ya bitches! I really dont think they ever saw that happening - and the BIGGEST shock of all...Kody doesn't take responsibility for anything and every behaviour he exhibits he blames on someone else

Yeah, Christine was really the mother of that large family. I believe Meri was a good mother to her own child, but was way too resentful to participate positively in raising the others. Janelle was like the traditional role of a father. Breadwinner, leaves and comes home after dark, encourages success and education. Christine was really mom to her kids AND Janelle’s kids. I think that’s why Garrison was like “I’ll come to wherever you’re cooking, Christine.” For many folks, home is wherever Mom is (before you’re married or partnered). Christine isn’t perfect, but she’s the Brown family mom.

I am a Pagan and I celebrate Ostara which is spring equinox. I will also celebrate Easter secularly with my Christian family because to me they are essentially the same. It’s a holiday about rebirth and renewal. Eggs and bunnies are fertility symbols. Even the names are similar. To me it’s not a coincidence that Easter falls around the same time as spring equinox….it’s highly likely they have similar origins which happens historically when different groups of people begin to interact with one another. Traditions get adopted or co-opted and people make them their own. At the end of the day, the origins don’t really matter….what the holiday means to you and what your intention is for celebrating is what counts.

I feel very strongly that Meri, Janelle and Christine were CRUELLY duped by Cody, polygamy and Robin. All three of the original wives were in this to win this, they believed wholeheartedly in this lifestyle and they believed in the old Cody, the religious Cody, they trusted him to do the right thing for the kids and their entire family AND THEN whammo! Their whole world is blown up and they were taken out one by one like trash to the dumpster. This is called betrayal and it was caused by Cody. He fell in love and completely did a 360 and changed everything about himself, he's literally a completely different person. He's despicable and lacks any conscience. I feel Janelle is suffering the most from dissociation, I feel she was massively bamboozled because she really trusted in her relationship with Cody. I feel she felt bullet proof and irreplaceable because she had six kids with him and that she was the hardest working. Once she snaps out of it and really starts to see how she was discarded so his pencil can be used lol I hope she does leaves flagstaff and finds new love. He deserves to lose the respect of his original kids because he discarded them too.

Ex Mormon here (Latter Day Saint not AUB) It’s a distinctly Mormon thing to “focus” on the resurrection rather than the crucifixion of Christ. That is why Mormons don’t wear or display crosses on or in their buildings or homes. When I was a kid (late 90s) my dad decided we weren’t going to do Easter anymore like with the bunny and baskets and gifts. He never called it resurrection Sunday but I have a feeling there was some push or talk given urging everyone to change their focus on that holiday. The more I learn about AUB the more I feel like they’re watching the big church and kind of doing what they do in some ways. So I wouldn’t be surprised if they heard some talk and then went all in on it.

Ex RLDS here. We did have crosses just our crosses were plain and never had Jesus on the cross.

It’s amazing that Kody says it’s not about favorite but about favor. He has the audacity to blame Christine and Janelle for ruining his relationship with his children, but he gets on national TV and talks about how he chose to go get Robin’s children ready for school. I would leave the others to do that. That stood out to me more than anything else on that episode. He may changes for Robin from day one and expects everyone to have blinders on to it. Everything from kissing before marriage, picking out her wedding dress, large wedding, everyone else got short honeymoons but She got 11 days, ear piercing, accepted by Robin, but not by the other wives, Working from her home, and not the wives, Robin was the only wife and her children that Kody took care of during Covid and now he admits that he left the other families early to take her kids to school. What an Asshole. Kody doesn’t have the balls to break up with the other wives but can’t understand why Mary hasn’t left him

It’s funny that Christine is from “royalty” clelebrated Easter growing up and also had her ears pierced. So how is it against their church beliefs?

Maybe a spin off with Robyn taking Kody to the bank when she leaves. 🤣

SO Kody thinks Easter is Pagan but was obviously okay when Robyn booked a Tarot Card Reader/Psychic when they lived in LV???? Does anyone else remember that Episode?

Robyn and Kody are trying to revamp their images… poor them they are just soulmates . Why can’t people see that? To bad Kody didn’t drop that news 16 years ago. I’m so happy for Christine and Janelle. They look so happy.

I bet there was an Easter egg hunt at the McMansion. The kids might have asked for Meri to be there but K & R didn’t want her to know their Easter secret😂

When my child would come home from school with a bag of candy it was because a student had a birthday and brought goody bags for the whole class.

He started celebrating Easter so Robyn wouldn't go to her mother's house!?!? He barely celebrated Christmas before Robyn came in and told him they would be celebrating holidays. Those 2 need to stop acting like Robyn doesn't influence him and his decisions and behaviors, because she 100% does. Robyn wears the pants and Kody does whatever she says.
