I remember watching this episode and what struck me was the fact that kody said something about how he couldn’t be there for Isabelle because he had to be present for the rest of the family, but Isabelle was the one who needed him. If you can’t be there for your children when they need you you’re not a good parent. This is exactly why you don’t have four families and 18 children, you can’t possibly give everyone the love that they need.

I agree with you! I have no brothers, or sisters, one set of biological parents. I had to have surgery when I was 21. My mother took the day off from work, without being asked. My father didn't "see the need". Told me, "You're weak and useless! Can't you just live through the pain? What's wrong with you? Grow up and live with it!" My Mom guilt tripped him into calling in sick the day of my surgery. Then he slept the entire time. I woke up with an allergic reaction to codeine. My father looked at me and said to my Mom, "You woke me up for what?" He was noticeably "pissed off" the whole time! Kept telling the nurses that I was, "just looking for attention." As soon as we got home, he went upstairs to sleep (3-4pm). My Mom made sure I wasn't bleeding, or uncomfortable. My little cousins came over to "hang out" with me. My father was furious that I was "getting attention"! We watched the hockey game together while my Mom went over to my neighbor's for coffee. My father ate his dinner, didn't offer anything to my little cousins and then went back to bed. I survived, got well and everything went back to normal. But I really never "forgave" my father for acting like such an IDIOT!!! When I was 2, I ended up in the hospital with a very high fever because my father wouldn't let my mother take me to the pediatrician (I had strep throat). My mother told me that I, "remembered things wrong! Your father was so scared!" Scared?! I remember him telling the nurses, "Let her die! She's weak & useless!" The man I knew as my grandfather heard that & put my father against the wall and told him, "Get your act together! That's your daughter!" My 2 uncles then threatened my father to keep his mouth shut! But....I "remembered things wrong." Until....I went to a psychologist at age 28....then my mother admitted (to my psychologist, NEVER to me) that my father did in fact say those things and my grandfather did line him up against the wall, my uncles did threaten my father! All of a sudden the great memory I knew I had was validated by my mother! Then my father expected me to respect him, worship the ground he walked on etc...NOT!!! Kody is experiencing the same backlash from his kids for EXACTLY the same reason! A teacher once told me, "Respect is a two way street. You have to give it, in order to receive it."

Lmao i think its a litle deeper than that haha. I think janelle has serious intimacy issues. Wveryones always like “janelles so strong and independent” but im sorry her relationship w kody is odd, saying they werent romantic for 20 years. She would have no reason to start over because shes not interested in love and romance. What she has w kody is perfect and enough for her cause she doesnt want much from a relationship. Meri is in a bad position because she is commited to the idea of the family, she started it, and doesnt want to abandon that. She also is super close to robyn and her kids andni think thats a big part of why she wont leave too. Honestly i feel like tobyn is selfish, she should tell meri that if she leaves, she can still be close w her kids, give her that peace of mind. Its wrong to be tethered dangling for so long , with no real marriage. She chooses it tho

Actually it was probably easier because the fans love her, despite evidence that she never treated Robin with kindness, she was selfish during covid, when Mary and Kody were splitting she was so happy she couldn't stop grinning, she talks in a fake patronizing voice when she is being an asshole but people here lap it up, she poisoned the kids against Kody and Robin, though if she were the only one getting along with Kody she would try to get him to leave the family for her in a heartbeat, and makes no apologies. She is so incredibly selfish and calculated, she really doesn't care about leaving the family and what happens in the wake, but hey, at least she is being strong and leaving the man with multiple wives. Let's face it, that's really the crime.

I would have more respect if Christine said she was leaving because of the surgery, but she said it was because Kody said he didn't want to have sex with her. It was covid, only 1 person allowed in, and even then it would be the waiting room. She should have had the surgery years ago, but her mom put her through tons of painful physical therapy, a back brace, and prayer because she didn't want her to have surgery. I don't think she should have had to wait longer, but had Kody gone, he wouldn't be able to see any of the kids for weeks or longer. If Christine and Janell had taken covid seriously, the kids wouldn't think their dad just didn't love them when he was trying to keep everyone safe. No surprise the kids saw the divorce coming!- she has been inappropriately venting to the kids about leaving for years, and blaming Robin! It's just crazy to me the support going out to such a toxic person. I have yet to hear how her life will be better, or how it could have been better. I get polygamy bad, but these wives had it pretty damn good, compared to any 25 year old marriage.

Doctors recommended it years before, but instead she was put through painful exercises, brace, insecurities and then covid and it couldn't wait. She should have been told that people couldn't be in the hospital like usual because of covid. Christine wasn't even being safe around her daughter who had surgery. The surgery would have been the final straw for me too. He could not go in the hospital, but just being in a hotel near by, following Covid rules, shows support to his wife and daughter. Also, god forbid something went really wrong, he would have been right there. It seemed pretty scary for both mom and daughter. I was about 30ish when I ended up in the infectious diseases ward of the hospital with 104 degree fever, vomiting, my entire body, especially my neck, was in exteme pain I can't explain. The nurses were taking vial after vial of blood, I was hooked up to fluids, could not eat. The doctor wanted to take a spinal tap, but did not because it was risky with me - I was too scared and might move. I was so sick and scared and nobody came to help me. My mom, who retired early, living in Florida with her husband, never came up to the hospital in Connecticut. She could have stayed at my sister's until she got the OK to come up or even my apartment. It would have been helpful to have someone talk to the doctors, because I was so sick. Also, the nurses weren't on their gsme and it would have be nice to have help in the hospital in general. I was there for over a week. They never were able to figure out what was wrong with me, but thank goodness I was able to get better and leave. My mother is a horrible woman. I will never forgive her for that and many other things.

Thing is, Christine chose to be the stay at home primary parent. A lot of moms actually want to stay home and raise their kids, but they can't afford to. She had help, she was provided for financially, and people actually run day cares for children for a living. What she did was great, till you realize that the kids thinking that 'Robin came in to keep Kody to herself and not let him see his other kids'...is actually a lie Christine has been telling the kids, including telling them she was going to leave Kody years before she said a word to Kody, it's actually sick. Christine would have been tickled pink if Kody left the family for her and her kids. She never seemed happier when Mary was catfished and her marriage fell apart. She was practically giddy! Kodys big outburst, was only calling out Christine for treating Robin like garbage from the very beginning. Christine didn't even deny it! SHE is why the kids think Robin is a monster. Robin does have a nanny, ok, she has very young children, older children, and this isn't a weekend, they are in school online during the day. I don't know their set up, but it's easier to play with kids, than it is to make them sit quietly and learn outside of their regular learning environment. It's just not the kind of noose to hang a mother by, during the pandemic with 5 kids.

Actually she said it was because Kody said he didn't want to sleep with her. Maybe later she said it was the surgery because fans were shocked Kody didn't go, but she definitely said physical intimacy first. I wondered if people were correctly supporting her, so I pictured a man repeating the words and reasons Christine gave for leaving Kody, and they actually sound pretty gross. "I just didn't need him anymore." Leaving because won't stay in a marriage without intimacy...after 25 years, most married couples have very little sex for many reasons. Just coming out of 2 years of covid with spouses on totally different pages, but it's ok to start getting back to normal life, so, no therapy?? After 25 years, a huge family, little one being taken to another state away from everything. No trying. No therapy. I just couldn't do that to my kids. He has (had) 5 wives and zeroed in on #5 as if she was the only one who deserved his time and attention. Christine said it herself…it’s not just physical intimacy, it’s emotional intimacy. Why does she not deserve that after raising his children and loving him for 25 years? It’s because Kody is only in love with Kody and the things his wives can give him. Not the other way around. A marriage, a relationship of any kind is a two way street emotionally even without physical intimacy. You can love someone with every fiber of your being as long as it’s reciprocated. If it’s not there from the other person, why should anyone waste their lives tied to someone who could give a 💩 about them, or their own children? To ask your child to endure more pain for even a day longer than necessary is not the mark of a loving parent. It’s the mark of a user. Why would anyone want to spend their lives…waste their one life in this world with someone who doesn’t hold an ounce of empathy, much less love for them? So, what has Kody done that was worth leaving? Nothing. He has done absolutely nothing for anyone except Kody.

Kody gets to have an intimate marriage with Robin, but expects his other wives to be okay with no intimacy in their lives. Insane.

I quit watching fairly early. Because Cody was nothing but a supreme narcissist. Nothing and no one really matters to him but himself.

I completely relate to her. Intimacy was so important to me. Not the lovemaking. The cuddling and whispering after. My ex would roll over off me and instantly snore. I would get up, sit in our living room and cry. The song ‘Is that all there is?’ Would be singing in my head . If someone does not want intimacy, you cannot explain it to them. You can, but they can never provide it. Go forth and find love and be so happy, Christine!❤️

When Christine said intimacy, she was actually talking about sex. She said "maybe Janell is ok without intimacy in her marriage, but I'm not. " Kody didn't want to have sex with her because of her actions around covid, and the total disrespect she showed him. That should be ok for them to take a break sexually, then see a therapist to work out what covid brought up...at least for the kids. Try. But that was it.

I knew in that moment when Kody said he wouldn’t go to Ysabel’s surgery that was final nail in the proverbial marriage coffin. Christine seems so light, happy and free now!

Good for you, You are so gracious about your realization and honest about how Kody failed as a father. Its heartbreaking to watch those scenes where he rejects you as a wife regarding not wanting intimacy and not being there for his child. I know fathers who would battle Satan himself if it meant they can be there for their childs events and Kody very easily gave a pass to that.

Christine is so strong! Tonight's episode made me cry. I could hear Christine and all Kody did was gaslight every issue she brought up. His excuses for being so lacking are inexcusable. He does have a favorite wife and his others wives are expected to pretend it's okay and kiss Robyn's feet. Robyn pretends she cares, but in reality, if she really did she would withhold herself from Kody until he fixes his relationship with Meri and Janelle, and force him to be a decent man, because he is far from decent. I hope Meri and Janelle wake up and leave. Neither of them are are as strong or as intelligent as Christine, if they were they would already be gone.
